Bright.md said July 17 that it closed an $8 million Series B funding round led by B Capital Group. Existing investor Seven Peaks Ventures also participated. Bright.md, of Portland, Oregon, provides software that aims to automate care and communication between physician and patient.
Quill said July 13 that it has closed a round of funding. Financial terms were not disclosed. Quill, of London, produces primary content using a cloud technology platform. Quill has raised a total of 10 million pounds ($12.9 million) in funding.
Rover.com said July 13 that it raised $65 million in funding led by Spark Capital. New investors Bespoke Strategies and StepStone Group also participated. Existing shareholders Madrona Venture Group, Menlo Ventures, Foundry Group, OMERS Ventures and Technology Crossover Ventures also participated. Rover.com, of Seattle, is a network of pet sitters and dog walkers.
WeWork Cos has raised $760 million in new capital, the Wall Street Journal is reporting. WeWork, of New York, operates shared office and co-living spaces. The company is valued at $21.06 billion, the story said citing a PitchBook Data estimate. The WSJ said it was not clear which entities provided capital.
Gong.io said July 12 that it raised $20 million in a Series A1 round. Existing investors Norwest Venture Partners and CheckPoint Co-Founder Shlomo Kramer participated in the round. New investors Wing Venture Capital and NextWorld Capital. Gong.io, of San Mateo, California, provides a conversation intelligence platform for sales teams.
Sparrho said July 11 that it has raised a pre-series A round of $3 million led by White Cloud Capital. Also participating were AllBright and Beast Ventures. Sparrho, of London, provides a science discovery and curation platform that provides access to over sixty million research papers, patents and publications.
Cloud X Partners, a portfolio company of Elm Equity Partners, said June 29 that John Swiderski has joined as head of product. Swiderski is a former senior product manager at Amazon.
VarmX said June 27 that it closed a seed financing round. New investors include BioGeneration Ventures (BGV) and InnovationQuarter. VarmX, of Leiden, Netherlands, is a biotech company focusing on the development of therapies in the field of hemostasis and thrombosis.
Justin Caldbeck has quit Binary Capital, the VC firm he founded, has quit, according to Techcrunch. Matt Mazzeo, the firm’s new partner, has also resigned from the VC, the story said. The departures come after six women in the tech industry alleged Caldbeck made unwanted sexual advances toward him, Business Insider said.
