Arkami announced that it has raised a $1.8 million Series A round of funding from Gordon Clemons of Verity Ventures, McNeel Capital based in Florida, Mark Swanson and a number of other veteran angel investors to develop its consumer electronics device myIDkey. The device, which sells for $170, is expected to begin shipping in the fourth quarter.

Dropcam, maker of a high-definition Wi-Fi video camera, has raised a $30 million Series C round led by Institutional Venture Partners. Existing investors Accel Partners and Menlo Ventures also invested in the round, as did new investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. The San Francisco-based company has now raised $47.8 million in total capital.
San Francisco-based Scoop.it -- which provides a social curation tool that allows users to collect and publish online content -- has raised $2.6 million from existing investors Partech International, Elaia Partners, IXO Private Equity and Orkos Capital. The funding gives the company $13.6 million in total capitalization since it was launched about three years ago.
Qwilt, which provides an online video platform, has raised $16 million in a Series C round led by Bessemer Venture Partners. Previous investors Accel Partners, Redpoint Ventures and Marker LLC also participated in the round. With the funding, the Redwood City, Calif.-based company has now raised $40 million in total funding
SolidFire, a maker of storage systems for cloud providers, announced today it has raised $31 million in Series C financing. Samsung Ventures led the round and was joined by existing investors New Enterprise Associates, Valhalla Partners and Novak Biddle Venture Partners. The Boulder, Colo.-based company has now raised $68 million in total funding.
DataStax, which provides a big data platform built on Apache Cassandra, has raised $45 million in Series D funding. The round was led by Scale Venture Partners with participation from existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, Crosslink Capital and Meritech Capital Partners and new investors DFJ Growth and Next World Capital. The company has now raised about $110 million in total funding since it was founded in early 2010.
High-end furniture reseller Chairish has raised a $3.2 million seed round from Azure Capital Partners and O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures (OATV). As part of the funding, Mike Kwatinetz from Azure and Mark Jacobsen from OATV have joined the board. The company was launched in February.
