Accel Partners has allocated another $100 million for its Big Data Fund 2, and the firm has added Anthony Deighton, CTO of Qlikview, and Shlomo Kramer, CEO of Imperva, to its advisory council.
Big data company GoodData has raised a big round of $22 million, led by TOTVS Ventures, the investment arm of the big Brazilian enterprise software company TOTVS S.A. Also participating in the round are existing GoodData investors Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst Partners, Next World Capital and Tenaya Capital. San Francisco-based GoodData, which helps corporations crunch data generated by SAP and other enterprise software programs, has now raised about $75 million in total funding.
San Francisco-based Compass Quality Insight announced it has raised $2 million in funding from Bain Capital Ventures and XSeed Capital. The company, which develops quality assurance software, was founded in 2012. Board members include Ben Nye of Bain Capital Ventures and Robert Siegel of XSeed Capital.
Cloud communications company Twilio has raised a $70 million Series D round co-led by Redpoint Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners, with Draper Fisher Jurvetson also participating. As part of the deal, Scott Raney, a partner with Redpoint, has joined the board. The San Francisco-based company has now raised about $103 million n total funding.
RockHealth, the San Francisco-based incubator focused on healthcare IT, announced this morning in a blog post that it has chosen its next class of startups, it plans to move to new space later this year and it has added new corporate sponsors to its roster of supporters. The new class of startups to join the accelerator are RockHealth's fifth such class since the organization was launched in June 2011.
Fastly, a San Francisco-based provider of a content delivery network, has raised a $10 million Series B round of funding from August Capital. The company, founded in 2011, previously raised more than $1 million in Series A and seed-stage funding from such investors as Battery Ventures, Reilly AlphaTech Ventures and individual investors, including Sunil Dhaliwal, now a founder of Amplify Partners.
Berlin-based AppLift, a provier of mobile game marketing services, has raised $13 million in a Series A round from Prime Ventures. The company raised initial funding from the German incubator HitFox Group, where AppLift was launched a year ago.
