Oak HC/FT, which in August wrapped up its third fund with an oversubscribed $800 million, has tapped Leah Scanlan as partner, talent. Scanlan will work closely with the firm's portfolio companies on their talent initiatives and provide support to Oak HC/FT's executive-in-residence program. Scanlan was previously with Khosla Ventures for four years, where she similarly work on talent development as an operating partner.

LAFPP has committed about $90 million to VC funds so far this year
San Francisco-based DCVC, an investor in deep tech, announced it has raised $725 million for its fifth main fund. The fund is more than three times the $234 million the firm raised for Fund IV in 2016. DCVC V is the firm's largest vehicle to date and will back early-stage deep tech deals and later-stage opportunities from its portfolio. DCVC earlier this year raised about $208 million for its first biotech fund.
San Francisco-based Fieldwire, a provider of field management software for the construction industry, announced it has raised an additional $33.5 million in funding. Menlo Ventures led the round, with follow-on participation from Brick & Mortar Ventures. Also in the Series C round are Hilti Group and Formation 8. As a result of the latest funding, Tyler Sosin of Menlo Ventures, will join Fieldwire’s board alongside Darren Bechtel of Brick & Mortar. Fieldwire has now raised $40.4 million to date.

Los Angeles-based Alpha Edison, an early-stage venture firm that is seeking to raise $250 million for its second fund, announced it has added Angela Sun as chief operating officer and partner. Sun came over from Bloomberg LP, where she served most recently as Global Head of Strategy and Corporate Development.
Foundation Capital, a late-stage investor in Uber and a backer of the unicorn Cohesity, announced it has raised $350 million for its ninth fund. The vehicle is slightly larger than Fund VIII, which closed in 2015 at $325 million. Fund IX is led by General Partners Ashu Garg, Charles Moldow and Steve Vassallo. Not a part of the new fund, but still listed as a GP on the firm's website, is Paul Holland, who was a part of the previous fund and is continuing to manage out his investments.
