Bling Capital, an investor in electric scooter company Lime, has raised $60 million for its inaugural early-stage fund, according to a pair of regulatory filings. The firm also raised a little more than $30 million for an opportunity fund that will make follow-on investments in portfolio companies and new investments in other companies in special cases, according to Founder and General Partner Ben Ling. Previously, Ling was a GP at Khosla Ventures and served in senior operating roles at Google, YouTube and Facebook.
Early-stage-focused Catapult Ventures, which invests in artificial intelligence and robotics, closed its inaugural fund above target at $55.35 million. Redwood City, California-based Alation Inc, provider of a data catalog company, announced it has raised $50 million in a Series C round led by Sapphire Ventures. Also participating in the funding in new investor Salesforce Ventures and existing investors Costanoa Ventures, DCVC, Harmony Partners and Icon Ventures. The company was founded in 2012 and previously raised more than $30 million in funding.
Linear B, founded last year to provide workforce analytics platform for software engineering teams, announced it has raised $1.6 million in seed funding from a group of Israeli-based individual investors. The round was led by serial entrepreneur and investor Ariel Maislos. The company, which has offices in Los Angeles and Israel, was co-founders by CEO Ori Keren and COO Dan Lines, former engineers with CloudLock, which was acquired by Cisco in 2016.
EQT Ventures announced this week that Johan Svanström and Lyle Fong have joined London team as partners. The firm, launched nearly three years ago, now has 30 team members worldwide in six cities, London, San Francisco, Berlin, Paris, Stockholm and Amsterdam. Svanström was previously president of Hotels.com and Fong is a serial entrepreneur, having founded enterprise software and gaming companies, including Lithium.
