Yesware has secured $13.5 million in series B funding. The round was led by Battery Ventures, with existing investors Google Ventures, Foundry Group, IDG Ventures, and Golden Venture Partners all participating. In total, Yesware raised $18.5 million.

Benu BioPharma has established Benu BioVentures, a new biopharmaceutical investment initiative. Funding activities will focus on product candidates with strong animal data and a clear regulatory path that address unmet medical needs. Benu BioVentures is led by Dennis Goldberg, Ph.D., FAHA and Fred Meyer, Ph.D., CFA, both recognized biopharmaceutical serial entrepreneurs.

Apiary, an API design platform company, has secured $1.63 million in seed funding led by Flybridge Capital Partners and Baseline Ventures. The funding will be used to expand the company’s engineering division to keep up with rising customer demand.

Okta has closed a $27 million Series D funding round led by returning investor Sequoia Capital. Existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock Partners and Khosla Ventures all participated.

Pinnatta, an interactive multimedia messaging platform, has received $1.5 million in Series A funding from Greek venture capital firms Odyssey Venture Partners and PJ Tech Catalyst. Skuldtech, a genomic biomarker company has secured 1 million euros ($1.3 million) in funding from Bpifrance as part of a project on Alzheimer's disease that has received funding of 8.6 million euros in total. The program is planned to last for four years, with the first results expected in 2018.

Space‐Time Insight, a provider of next‐generation situational intelligence solutions, has raised $20 million in Series C financing to drive the company’s continued expansion in the US and international markets. London-based private equity fund, Zouk Capital, joins current investors Opus Capital Ventures, EnerTech Capital, and Novus Energy Partners in this round of financing.

NextDocs, a provider of regulated content management and compliance solutions, has received a $13.5 million round of investments and funding commitments. The funding round was led by OpenView Venture Partners with participation by Eastward Capital and Bridgebank Capital.

ReferStar has secured $1.625 million Series A funding. ReferStar is a Software as a Service platform that automates and extends the reach of employers by empowering employees, customers, alumni and suppliers to use social media networks to provide targeted talent acquisition through referrals. The funding was led by Granicus Ventures.
