RGB Networks, a provider of scalable multiscreen IP video delivery solutions, has today announced its new partnership with Conax, a provider of solutions for securing multi-device and digital video content distribution. RGB Networks is backed by Accel Partners, Comcast Interactive, Focus Ventures, Granite Ventures, Institutional Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, and Mitsui & Co. Venture Partners.
WISeKey, a mobile cybersecurity provider has closed additional fundraising as part of a third and last pre-IPO investment round. The company divided the round into three tranches with the objective of raising a cumulative $120 million in pre-IPO financing. The previous and second tranche was announced by the company in December 2011.
UK-based online mobile tyre-fitting service TyresOnTheDrive.com has secured a 1.5 million pounds ($2.4 million) investment, led by MMC Ventures and supported by EV Group, to support its nationwide expansion. The latest round of funding brings the total investment, including funding from the founders, to over 2.6 million pounds.
The Angel CoFund, a fund that invests in high growth SMEs alongside angel groups across the UK, has realised its first investment. The fund has sold Nonlinear Dynamics, a Newcastle firm that develops specialist software for analysing proteins, to Waters Inc.
Oktogo, the company operating Russia’s major hotel e-commerce business, Oktogo.ru, has acquired Travel.ru, a Russian online travel portal. Oktogo.ru backers include VTB Capital, Mangrove Capital Partners, Ventech and ABRT.
Acacia Pharma, a pharmaceutical company specialising in the development of drugs for supportive care, has raised 15 million pounds ($23.5 million) in a Series B financing led by Fidelity Biosciences and Novo A/S. Current investors Gilde Healthcare and Lundbeckfond Ventures also participated in the round.
Taylor Wessing has advised Powa Technologies Limited on a private placement of shares to raise an aggregate amount of approximately $76 million. The transaction represents one of the largest investments in an early stage UK technology company in recent years. Powa Technologies Limited, which was set up by London based tech entrepreneur Dan Wagner in 2007 and only began trading two years ago, creates technology allowing consumers and businesses to make transactions through mobile devices.
ECommerce technology company Amplience has received 3.7 million pounds ($5.7 million) of investment in its second round of fundraising. Led by Octopus Investments, funding has come from existing stakeholders and investors, and new investor Northstar Ventures.
Adzuna has raised a Series A funding from existing investors Index Ventures, The Accelerator Group and Passion Capital, following seed rounds in 2011/12, taking total funding to date to 2 million pounds ($3.1 million). Following on from the funding, the company has launched Jobsworth, a tool which predicts the salary of any job ad based on its contents.
GetGoing, a personalized travel search and booking site, has launched a service for travelers to book hotels on GetGoing.com through a partnership with Expedia Affiliate Network. GetGoing is a Y Combinator company based in San Francisco backed by a number of venture capital and private equity funds.
