Spanish company SPOTI SL, has created SocialRadios, a free application for the Android platform that allows users to listen to to radio stations and also tweet about the programs. Although currently only available for Android, after summer the SocialRadios team expects to launch the iOS app.

Desalitech, a provider of resource and cost efficient water production and treatment solutions, has secured $5 million equity funding from Liberation Capital and its institutional investors. This increases the private equity firm’s total investment to $9.5 million and brings the total amount raised by the company to over $13 million.
Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, has closed an equity investment into Zilift, a developer of through-tubing deployed artificial lift systems using permanent magnet motors and magnetic transmissions. Zilift was established in May 2009 exclusively to develop and market permanent magnet technologies for innovative artificial lift applications.
Colorescience has closed a $10 million Series A convertible preferred stock offering from existing investors. The company also announced additions of two members to its board of directors, Josh Baltzell of Split Rock Partners and Howard Palefsky of Montreux Equity Partners.
Elephant Talk Communications Corp, a provider of proprietary Software Defined Network Architecture platforms for the telecommunications industry has increased its previously announced registered direct offering to an aggregate of $12.0 million. The offering is led by a $4.5 million investment from Elephant Talk CEO Steven van der Velden, an increase of $1.5 million from his previously announced investment, and a $5 million investment from Crede CG III. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Crede Capital Group, and investors placed by Dawson James to purchase an additional $2.5 million.
Northzone is to sell semiconductor provider Energy Micro to NASDAQ-listed Silicon Labs. Northzone and Investinor have been investors in Energy Micro since March 2010. Northzone has achieved a 50 percent IRR multiple on its investment.
