SOSventures and Founders Fund, have set up an accelerator program for start-ups. The program is geared for consumer and enterprise companies in areas ranging from gestural computer interaction to movement diagnostics to information manipulation.
CopyTele has completed a private placement of a $3,500,000. The financing also includes the issuance of a three year warrant to purchase 9,249,272 common shares, at an exercise price of 37.84 cents per share. The $3,500,000 of gross proceeds from the financing will be used for general working capital purposes. CopyTele specializes in patent monetization and patent assertion.
Photography service Scoopshot has secured $3.9 million in Series A funding from Conor Venture Partners and Finnish Industry Investment, with participation by existing investors. The new round of funding will be used to ramp up Scoopshot’s presence in the US and UK by expanding its existing sales teams there.
Ezoic has closed a $5.6 million Series A funding round led by venture firm Balderton Capital alongside New Amsterdam Capital, Silicon Valley Bank and private investors. The company offers publishers an automatic way to improve site layout and advertising revenue.
FoundationDB has closed $17 million in a Series A funding round led by Sutter Hill Ventures with additional investment from CrunchFund and existing angel investors. Sutter Hill managing director, Sam Pullara will join FoundationDB's board of directors.
Business payment network Bill.com has closed $38 million in financing. Led by new investor Scale Venture Partners, the round also included participation from Bank of America, American Express, Fifth Third Bank, Pete Kight, founder of CheckFree, and Commerce Ventures, as well as all of Bill.com’s previous investors August Capital, Napier Park Global Capital, TTV Capital, Jafco Ventures, Emergence Capital and DCM. With this funding, Bill.com has raised $80 million to date.
Tictail has secured support and backing from Berlin-based company builder, Project A Ventures. Created by Swedish entrepreneur Carl Waldekranz and co-founders Kaj Drobin, Birk Nilson, and Siavash Ghorbani in Stockholm in May 2011, Tictail is a free-to-use DIY e-commerce platform that allows individuals and retailers to set up their own virtual store in minutes.
Student accommodation website Uniplaces has secured investment from Octopus Investments. Uniplaces provides a booking platform for student accommodation, marketing a wide variety of properties from privately rented accommodation to professionally managed student residences.
Building Robotics has secured a $1.14 million seed financing round by Claremont Creek Ventures, Google Ventures, Formation 8, Navitas Capital, Red Swan Ventures and prominent angel investors. Building Robotics’ initial product, Comfy, reconnects people to the heating and cooling in their work environments, providing more comfortable spaces while saving energy.
ImmunGene has secured $9 million in a Series A financing from Ally Bridge Group. ImmunGene is a biotechnology company focused on developing antibody-cytokine fusion technology therapies to treat cancer.
