PurThread Technologies has closed an equity round totaling just over $7 million. The investment was led by PurThread board chair, Richard S. Bodman. Funding will be put toward the growth, research and development of PurThread’s technologies.
Zola has closed a $3.25 million Series A round of funding led by Thrive Capital. Joshua Kushner, founder and managing partner of Thrive Capital, will join Zola’s board of directors.
Terrajoule, developers of a flexible technology platform for distributed energy generation, have secured a $11.5 million Series A round of funding. Investors include global venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates; Air Liquide Investments in the future And Demonstration (ALIAD), the capital development company of Air Liquide and individual investors.
Midatech has successfully raised funds to advance technology for diabetes and cancer treatment. The investment round was led by Ippon Capital, a Geneva-based private equity firm.
Hookipa Biotech has raised 20 million euros ($27.5 million) in a series B equity financing. Existing investors Sofinnova Partners and Forbion Capital Partners led the financing with three new investors Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund, Takeda Ventures and BioMedPartners joining the round.
Flint Mobile has secured $6 million in new capital. The Series B round was led by Digicel, with additional funding from SVG Ventures. Previous investors True Ventures and Storm Ventures also contributed new capital as follow-on to their April 2012 investment.
Technology company WebRadar has secured a new round of equity financing led by Citrix, with participation from existing investor Intel Capital, Intel’s global investment and M&A organization. The investment marks the first for Citrix in both Brazil and Latin America.
Iris Mobile has closed a $3 million Series A financing round led by Chicago-based Origin Ventures. Illinois Ventures, Hyde Park Venture Partners, Hyde Park Angels and OCA Ventures also participated in the investment. The growth capital will be used to expand the company’s product development, and sales and marketing initiatives.
Formlabs have announced $19 million in Series A financing. DFJ Growth led the round, joined by Pitango Venture Capital, Innovation Endeavors and many returning angel investors. Formlabs will use the capital to expand its product, design, and research teams, while growing its marketing and customer support capabilities internationally.
Cureatr, a mobile care coordination solution for healthcare providers, has secured $5.7 million in Series A financing. The funding round was co-led by Cardinal Partners and Milestone Venture Partners with JMI Services and the Partnership Fund for New York City participating.
