MMC Ventures has led another 800,000 pounds ($1.3 million) round of investment into Love Home Swap, an international holiday home exchange website founded by serial entrepreneur Debbie Wosskow. Love Home Swap has also appointed David Kelly as chairman and Sean Cornwell as non-executive director.
Gigaclear has secured further equity financing for the company. The additional funds come from a group of private investors and will allow Gigaclear to expand its services. Gigaclear, founded in 2010 by Mathew Hare, designs, builds and operates fibre broadband networks in rural UK communities.
The Kansas Bioscience Authority board of directors has approved $700,000 in new investments. The investments include Parnell, an Australian veterinary pharmaceutical company, which received a $400,000 grant and a $300,000 grant to support the establishment in Kansas of a contract research organization by a firm established elsewhere in the country.
ICR Turbine Engine Corporation, a developer of turbine engines has closed $10 million in Series A financing. Financing is led by New Venture Partners.
RingRevenue has raised an additional $3.25 million in growth capital led by existing investors GRP Partners and Rincon Venture Partners. RingRevenue is a developer of call marketing automation solutions.
MabVax Therapeutics, a privately held clinical stage biotechnology company has closed the first tranche in a Series B financing. Numoda Capital Innovations led the round and was joined by existing investors Burrill Capital Fund IV and RTP Venture Fund for an aggregate investment of $5.25 million.
QuaDPharma has secured $1 million financing from Rand Capital SBIC and Advantage Capital Partners. QuaDPharma manufactures and tests small-batch pharmaceuticals. The funds will be used to expand and market the commercial capabilities of the business.
Datadog has secured a $6.2 million series A round of funding, co-led by Index Ventures and RTP Ventures, an affiliate of ru-Net Holdings. Existing investors IA Ventures, Amplify Partners, Contour Ventures and NYCSeed also participated. Datadog is an IT service based in New York City.
Specialty finance company Horizon Technology Finance Corporation has closed a $7.5 million venture loan to Systech International. The business specialises in pharma serialization solutions.
Qumulo, an enterprise data storage company, has raised $24.5 million in a Series A round of financing led by Highland Capital Partners, with participation from Madrona Venture Group and Valhalla Partners. The business was founded in March 2012 with seed funding from Valhalla Partners. As part of the investment, Peter Bell, general partner at Highland Capital Partners, joins the board of directors.
