San Francisco-based ZecOps, a cybersecurity firm, has secured $10.2 million in seed funding. The investors included CEAS Investments, Evolution Equity Partners, KPN Ventures, Plug and Play Ventures and Stormbreaker Venture Group.
Palo Alto, California-based Next Insurance, a digital insurtech company, has named Melanie Chase as chief marketing officer and Effi Fuks Leichtag as chief product officer. Chase is a former Fitbit executive while Leichtag is an ex-Yelp executive. Next Insurance is backed by MunichRe, Redpoint Ventures, Nationwide, Markel, American Express Ventures, Ribbit Capital, TLV Partners, Group 11 and Zeev Ventures.
Airfocus, a provider of collaborative product management and road mapping software, has raised 1.7 million euros in seed funding. Nauta Capital led the round.
San Francisco-based TRM, a cryptocurrency compliance and risk management platform, has secured $4.2 million in funding. The investors were Initialized Capital, Blockchain Capital, PayPal Ventures and Y Combinator.
REX, a full-service residential broker, has secured $40 million in Series C1 funding. REX's investors include Jack Greenberg, former CEO of McDonald's, Jim Perry, co-founder of Madison Dearborn Partners and Muneer Satter, chairman of Satter Investment Management.
IntSights, a cybersecurity company, has raised $30 million in Series D funding. Qumra Capital led the round. In addition to the funding, Boaz Dinte from Qumra Capital will join the IntSights' board of directors.
Western Magnesium Corporation has secured C$210 million (US$150 million) in funding from New York-based GEM Global Yield LLC SCS. The capital will be used to accelerate Western Magnesium’s development of a commercial reactor and the acquisition of plant and equipment key to production. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia and Las Vegas, Western Magnesium is a producer of green, primary magnesium metal.
Clocktower Technology Ventures, a venture arm of Clocktower Group, has closed its second fund at about $70 million. Clocktower Technologies II LP's investors include chief investment officers at global hedge funds, a university endowment, a Canadian pension, a sovereign wealth fund and an outsourced chief investment officer. The fund invests in early-stage fintech companies.
IOTech Systems Limited, an IoT edge platform company, has raised $7.5 million in Series A funding. Dell Technologies Capital led the round.
San Francisco-based LIV, a mixed reality game streaming platform, has secured $2.6 million in Series A funding. Hiro Capital led the round.
