Colorado-based investment banking firm SDR Ventures said Tuesday that it has raised debt financing for Halker Consulting through CoBiz Structured Finance. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Lone Tree, Colorado, Halker is a provider of engineering, design, project management, procurement and field services for the oil and gas sectors.
Pritzker Group Venture Capital (formerly New World Ventures) said Tuesday that it has invested $45 million in SMS Assist. Based in Chicago, SMS Assist is a provider of a mobile and cloud-based facilities maintenance platform.
United Capital Financial Partners, the parent company of investment firm United Capital Financial Advisers, has closed $38 million in financing. Sageview Capital led the round with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners and Grail Partners. Lazard Middle Market advised United Capital in this round of financing. According to United Capital, the capital will be used for marketing and branding as well as new lead generation.
Comprimato has received 200,000 euros in seed funding from Credo Ventures and Y Soft Venture Capital. According to the company, the capital will be used for international sales expansion and product development. A spin-off from Prague-based research institute CESNET, Comprimato is a provider of video solutions.
Superpedestrian emerged from stealth on Monday to say it has raised $2.1 million in Series A funding. The investors included Spark Capital and Tumblr founder and CEO David Karp. Based in Cambridge, Mass., Superpedestrian is a developer of the Copenhagen Wheel bike.
Panorama Education said Monday that it has closed $4 million in seed funding. Mark Zuckerberg's Startup:Education and Jeff Clavier's SoftTech VC led the round with participation from Google Ventures, Ashton Kutcher's A-Grade Investments, Yale University and other unnamed investors. Panorama Education is a provider of data analysis and feedback surveys for K-12 schools.
Kona Medical said Monday that it has completed $10 million in Series D financing from Morningside Group. According to the firm, the capital will be used for the China market. Based in Bellevue, Wash., and Menlo Park, Calif., Kona Medical is a developer of treatments for hypertension.
ChromaDex Corp said Monday that it has raised equity financing from DSM Venturing, the corporate venture unit of Royal DSM. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Irvine, Calif., ChromaDex is a natural products company.
Sqrrl said Monday that it has closed $5.2 million in Series A financing. Return backers Atlas Venture and Matrix Partners were the lead investors. Headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., Sqrrl is a provider of database software for real-time Big Data applications.
Swift Biosciences has closed $7 million in Series B financing. Fletcher Spaght Ventures led the round with participation from Renaissance Venture Capital Fund, the Mercury Fund, Michigan Accelerator Fund and several Michigan-based individual investors. In conjunction with the funding, the company has named Peter Kleinhenz, a partner at Fletcher Spaght Ventures, to its board of directors. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Swift Biosciences develops technologies for genomics and personalized medicine.
