G1 Therapeutics said Wednesday that it has closed $12.5 million in Series A financing. MedImmune Ventures led the round with participation from Hatteras Venture Partners and Mountain Group Capital. Also, Dr. Michael Gutch, managing director at MedImmune Ventures and Dr. Ron Laufer, senior managing director at MedImmune Ventures, have joined G1's board of directors. Based in Chapel Hill, NC, G1 is a pharmaceutical company focused on cancer therapy and biodefense applications.
Kii has closed $7.3 million from Fenox Venture Capital and other investors. According to Kii, the capital will be used to expand the company's presence in Southeast Asia. Headquartered in Tokyo, Kii is a provider of a cloud technology and distribution services for mobile developers that want to turn their apps into full-time businesses.
SkyGiraffe has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Microsoft Ventures. Based in Mountain View, Calif. and Herzliya, Israel, SkyGiraffe, which is also backed by 500 Startups, is provider of a platform that extends enterprise data to mobile devices.
7signal said Tuesday that it has received $4 million in Series B financing. Allos Ventures and Mutual Capital Partners Funds led the round with participation from existing investor North Coast Angel Fund. With offices in Ohio and Finland, 7Signal is a provider of wireless performance solutions.
Druva has raised $25 million in Series C funding. Investors included Sequoia Capital, Nexus Venture Partners and new investor Tenaya Capital. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., Druva is a provider of integrated data protection and governance solutions for laptops, PCs, smartphones and tablets.
StarMobile has raised $2.5 million in seed funding. U.S. Venture Partners led the round with participation from GRA Venture Fund and Atlanta Technology Angels. In conjunction with the funding, StarMobile has named Dafina Toncheva, a partner at USVP, to its board of directors. Based in Atlanta, StarMobile is a provider of cloud-based solutions.
mParticle said Tuesday that it has raised $3 million in seed funding. Bowery Capital led the round with participation from Google Ventures and Greylock Partners. Based in New York City, mParticle is a mobile technology company.
Sofie Biosciences said Tuesday that it has closed $5 million in Series A financing. Tata Industries led the round with participation from existing investors MRM Capital and the Cycad Group. Based in Culver City, Calif., Sofie Biosciences is a provider of molecular imaging probes and devices for scientists and physicians.
EcoFactor said Tuesday that it has secured $10 million in Series B financing. The investors were NRG Energy, Claremont Creek Ventures, RockPort Capital Partners and Aster Capital. Based in Redwood City, Calif., EcoFactor is a provider of cloud-based home energy solutions.
1366 Technologies said Tuesday that it has raised $15 million in Series C funding. Tokuyama Corp. was the lead investor. Return backers North Bridge Venture Partners, Polaris Venture Partners, VantagePoint Capital Partners and Energy Technology Ventures also participated in the round. Based in Bedford, Mass., 1366 Technologies is a maker of silicon wafers.
