FitStar Labs said on Thursday that it has closed $4 million in Series A funding. The lead investor was Trinity Ventures. Existing investor Google Ventures also participated in the round. Headquartered in San Francisco, FitStar Labs is a health and fitness platform.
Boston-based venture foundry Redstar Ventures said on Thursday that it has launched Vinely, an online wine club. No financial terms were disclosed. Bill Wittenberg, who co-founded Humongous Media, has assumed the reins as Vinely's CEO.
Combat Gent, an online men's shop, has closed $1.84 million in seed funding. Investors included VegasTechFund, MHS Capital, Greycroft Partners, Naxuri Capital, Blazer Ventures and Jake Bornstein of Flint and Tinder. Berlin-based Point Nine Capital also participated in the round. Also, Combat Gent co-founders Vishaal and Mo Melwani, have been named venture partners at Fashion Tech Accelerator, a Silicon Valley program focused on fashion tech startups.
SocialRadar said on Wednesday that it has closed $12.75 million in Series A funding. Lead investors were New Enterprise Associates, Grotech Ventures and SWaN & Legend Ventures. Also participating in the round were Steve Case, co-founder of America Online; Ted Leonsis, owner and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment; Dave Morin, co-founder and CEO of Path; Steven Gruber, managing partner at Oak Hill Capital Partners; and Mark Ein, CEO of Venturehouse Group and owner of the Washington Kastles. SocialRadar is a provider of social location-based technology.
Vertos Medical said on Wednesday that it has raised nearly $23 million in financing. Pitango Venture Capital was the lead investor. Existing investors ONSET Ventures, CHL Medical Partners, Foundation Medical Partners, Mercury Fund and Aweida Venture Partners also participated in the round. Vertos Medical is a provider of treatment for patients suffering from lumbar spinal stenosis.
Intercom has raised $6 million in Series A funding. The lead investor was The Social+Capital Partnership. Freestyle Capital and David Sacks, founder and CEO of Yammer, also participated in the round. Headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., Intercom is a provider of solutions that monitor user behavior.
Pindrop Security said on Wednesday that it has raised $11 million in Series A funding. Andreessen Horowitz and Citi Ventures were the lead investors. New investors Redpoint Ventures and Felicis Ventures participated in the round as well as existing investor Webb Investment Network. Also, Scott Weiss, general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, will join Pindrop Security's board. Headquartered in Atlanta, Pindrop Security is a provider of security solutions for call centers and phone users.
Nextt said on Wednesday that it has received $700,000 in seed funding. Lead investors include Venture Investors and Great Oaks Venture Capital. Nextt is a private social network for friends.
ThousandEyes said on Wednesday that it has raised $5.5 million in Series A funding. The lead investor was Sequoia Capital. According to the company, it will use the funding for expansion and growth. Headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., ThousandEyes is a provider of IT performance management.
Entelo said on Wednesday that it has raised $3.5 million in financing. The lead investor was Battery Ventures, with Menlo Ventures also participating in the round. Entelo is a recruitment platform for software engineers and designers.
