MCG Capital Corp. said on Tuesday that it has invested $12.6 million in Community Investors. This investment consists of a loan, a revolving line of credit and an equity co-investment. A portfolio company of K1 Capital, Community Investors is a provider of software solutions.
Zetta.net said on Tuesday that it has received $8 million in Series B funding. The lead investor was Industry Ventures. Existing investors Foundation Capital and Sigma also participated in the round. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., Zetta.net is a provider of disaster recovery and archiving technology.
Oculus VR has completed $16 million in Series A funding. Spark Capital and Matrix Partners were the lead investors. Founders Fund and Formation 8 also participated in the round. Also, Santo Politi, founder and general partner at Spark, and Antonio Rodriguez,general partner at Matrix, have joined the company’s board of directors. Based in Irvine, Calif., Oculus VR is a maker of Oculus Rift, a virtual reality headset.
Rockwell Medical said on Tuesday that it has secured $20 million in debt financing from Hercules Technology Growth Capital. Based in Wixom, MI, Rockwell Medical is a biopharmaceutical company that targets end-stage renal disease and chronic kidney disease.
InSphero AG said on Tuesday that it has received CHF 2 Million in Series B financing. According to the company, the round was led by both existing and new investors, none of whom were identified. Based in Zurich, Switzerland, InSphero is a provider of three-dimensional microtissue technology.
Denham Capital said on Tuesday that it has provided seed capital of $100 million to form Endeavor Energy. Denham has also named Sean Long as CEO of Endeavor Energy. The new company will invest in thermal and hydroelectric power projects in Africa.
Vets First Choice said on Monday that it has raised $6.5 million in financing. New investor HLM Venture Partners led the round. Also participating were existing investors Polaris Partners, Borealis Ventures, Harbor Light Capital and Black Point Group. Based in Portland, Maine, Vets First Choice is an online provider of veterinary partner-pharmacy and marketing services.
Disconnect said today that it has received $3.5 million in Series A funding. The lead investor was FirstMark Capital. Based in Palo Alto, Calif., Disconnect, which has also become certified as a B Corporation, is a provider of online privacy and security software.
Relationship Science said on Monday that it has received $30 million in a third round of funding. New investors include Reuben Jeffery, former Merrill Lynch Chairman and CEO David Komansky, former MBNA Chairman Randy Lerner, Seagate Chairman/CEO Stephen Luczo, William Rudin, and Salesforce.com.
