GetWellNetwork said on Wednesday that it has received an investment from Ascension Health Ventures. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Bethesda, MD, GetWellNetwork is a provider of patient care solutions for health care professionals.
Mobiquity, a provider of mobile solutions, said on Wednesday that it has received $12 million in Series B financing. The lead investor was NewSpring Growth, the growth equity fund of NewSpring Capital. Existing investors Longworth Venture Partners and Sigma Partners also participated in the round.
Mid Atlantic Bio Angels, an angel investor group focused on new and emerging life science companies, said on Wednesday that it has invested $500,000 in Cerus Endovascular Ltd., a company in Oxford, England, which has developed an implantable device for treating aneurysms. According to Cerus Endovascular, the funding, which was part of a larger investment round, will be used for product development and clinical trials.
Wireless Seismic said on Tuesday that it has closed $12.5 million in its latest funding. Existing investors Chesapeake Energy and Energy Ventures participated in this round as did new investor Total Energy Ventures, the corporate venture capital division of French oil and gas company Total. Also, as a result of this transaction, Wireless Seismic increased its board of directors to six. New members include: Gary E. Jones, chairman, Wireless Seismic; Roy Kligfield, CEO, Wireless Seismic; Kent Wilkinson, vice president, Chesapeake Natural Gas Ventures; Larry Lunardi, vice president, geophysics, Chesapeake Energy Corporation; Jim Sledzik, partner, Energy Ventures; and Christophe Tonion, investment manager, Total Energy Ventures. Based in Sugar Land, TX, Wireless Seismic is a provider of data for the oil and gas industry.
DAQRI said on Tuesday that it has received a $15 million private equity commitment from Tarsadia Investments. The funding will be used to boost DAQRI's engineering and design resources. Headquartered in Los Angeles, Calif., DAQRI is a provider of 4D Augmented Reality technology.
Dexplora said on Tuesday that it has received an investment of $1.2 million. Investors include venture capital firms Creandum and DN Capital as well as the former founder and CEO of Nukona, Chris Perret, ZenDesk SVP Adrian McDermott and John Taysom, an early Yahoo investor. Headquartered in Malmo, Sweden, Dexplora is a producer of sales products.
Digital Caddies said on Tuesday that it has received an investment from Allan Kaplan, managing partner and founder of KG Investments. No financial terms were disclosed. Kaplan has also been named to the company's advisory board. Based in Scottsdale, Ariz., Digital Caddies is a provider of golf GPS systems.
Cheetah Medical said on Tuesday that it has closed $14.5 million in financing. Investors included Springfield Investments, Ascension Health Ventures, MVM Life Science Partners and Robert Bosch Venture Capital. Also, Cheetah Medical named Chris Hutchison as president/CEO and William T. Denman as chief medical officer. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, Cheetah Medical is a provider of non-invasive cardiac output and hemodynamic monitoring.
Akebia Therapeutics said on Tuesday that it has closed $41 million in Series C financing. The lead investor was Satter Investment Management, LLC, with Novo A/S as co-lead. Also participating in the round were existing investors Novartis Venture Funds, Kearny Venture Partners, Venture Investors LLC, Athenian Venture Partners, Triathlon Medical Ventures, AgeChem Venture and Sigvion Capital Fund. Seaview Securities LLC was the financial advisor to Akebia for the transaction. Based in Cincinnati, OH, Akebia Therapeutics is a biotech company focused on developing treatments for anemia and cancer.
InsightSquared said on Tuesday that it has received $8 million in Series B funding. The investors were DFJ and existing investor Atlas Venture, which seed-funded InsightSquared and led its Series A funding. Also, InsightSquared has added Court Cunningham, CEO of Yodle, to its board of directors and Mark Roberge, HubSpot's SVP of sales and services to its board of advisors. Based in Cambridge, Mass., InsightSquared is a provider of analytics solutions for small and midsize businesses.
