Variable said on Monday that it has raised $1.25 million in Series A funding. Atlanta Technology Angels, Chattanooga Renaissance Fund, Pangea’s Edge, the Westcott Family, and investors in California, New York and Texas, participated in the round. Variable, which is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a provider of wireless sensing technology.
Canvas, a provider of business mobile apps, said on Monday that it has closed $4 million in Series C funding. The lead investor was Osage Venture Partners. Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, an existing investor, also participated in the round. The financing will be used to expand the company's capabilities and its global market base. Canvas is headquartered in both Reston, Virginia and Sydney, Australia.
Skyline Innovations, a provider of solar water heating systems, has closed $2 million in mezzanine financing. CCM US, LLC was the lead investor while DC Community Ventures also participated. The funding will be used to continue Skyline's expansion. Skyline Innovations is headquartered in Washington, DC, with offices in Los Angeles and San Diego.
Qriously said on Thursday that it has received $3.5 million in Series A funding. The lead investor was Spark Capital. Accel Partners also participated in the round. Headquartered in New York and London, Qriously is a provider of products that measure real-time public opinion.
Numecent, a provider of cloudpaging solutions, said on Wednesday that it has closed $13.6 million in a major funding round. The lead investor was T-Venture, the venture capital division of Deutsche Telekom. According to Numecent, the funding will be used to support the rapidly growing business of the company and to make cloudpaging available on a slew of mobile platforms. A portfolio company of Endeavour Ventures, a London-based venture capital firm, Numecent is based in both Irvine, Calif. and the U.K.
Software vendor Moogsoft said on Wednesday that it has received $7 million in Series A funding. The lead investor of the round was Redpoint Ventures. Also, John Walecka, general partner at Redpoint Ventures, has joined Moogsoft’s board of directors.
Pure Storage said on Wednesday that it has received funding from In-Q-Tel (IQT). No financial terms were disclosed. Pure Storage has also entered into a technology development agreement with IQT. Pure Storage is an all-flash enterprise storage company based in Mountain View, Calif.
TrackMaven said on Wednesday that it has received $1.25 million in funding. Among the investors that participated in the round were AOL Ventures; Roger Krakoff of Cloud Capital Partners; and Acceleprise Ventures. Based in Washington, D.C., TrackMaven is a competitive intelligence platform for marketers.
Five9 said on Wednesday that it has raised $34.5M in private funding. Of the $34.5M in funding, $22M is series D equity and $12.5M is a bank revolver debt facility. SAP Ventures led the equity round and was joined by existing investors Adam Street Partners, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and Partech International. City National Bank provided the bank revolver debt facility. Headquartered in San Ramon, Calif. and with offices in Southeast Asia, Russia, Canada and Latin America, Five9 is a provider of cloud contact center software.
