Transgene SA, a biopharmaceutical company that develops targeted immunotherapy products to treat cancer and chronic infectious diseases, said on Tuesday that it has participated in a first round of financing in ElsaLys Biotech, an antibody start-up. No financial terms were disclosed. Another investor is Sofimac Partners, a France-based investment firm, which along with Transgene, is ElsaLys Biotech's largest shareholder; although each with a minority holding.
Postmaster said on Tuesday that it has raised a seed investment round of $600,000. Lead investors included Capital Factory, Cloud Power and Zelkova Ventures. Postmaster, which is based in Austin, Texas, is a small parcel shipping company.
ConsultingMD, an online service that provides health care, said on Tuesday that it has received a $10 million round of funding from Venrock. The funding is to help ConsultingMD further develop its digital technology bringing patients together with physicians.
Swipely, a Providence, RI-based merchant account provider, said today that it has raised $12 million in Series B financing led by Shasta Ventures. Existing investors First Round Capital, Greylock Partners and Index Ventures also joined the round. The funding is to help Swipely expand both its merchants' network and nationwide growth.
Skyword has received $6.7 million in growth financing led by Cox Media Group. In addition to Cox Media Group, Skyword is also backed by Allen & Company, Progress Ventures, and American Public Media Group. Skyword is a content marketing platform based in Boston.
Ringadoc has raised an additional $700,000 in seed funding, bringing the total round to $1.9 million Founders Fund’s seed vehicle FF Angel led the round. Other investors included the LA- based Siemer VC; Telegraph Hill Group; Dr Lyle Dennis, Chief of Neurology at Bon Secours Health System; Ryan Howard, founder and CEO of Practice Fusion; and Sharon Knight, former president of One Medical Group. Ringadoc is a cloud-based automated answering service provider.
EdgeSpring said on Thursday that it raised a total of $11 million in financing including a $9 million series A from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Lightspeed Ventures. EdgeSpring has also developed CrunchEdge for Crunchbase, a crowdsourcing platform that provides data on venture investments and startup company information. CrunchEdge will be unveiled in early June. EdgeSpring, which is headquartered in San Mateo, Calif., is a data analytics platform.
BonitaSoft has closed on a $13 million series C funding led by the French National Fund for Digital Society. Additional investors included BonitaSoft’s three existing investors: Ventech, Auriga Partners and Serena Capital. BonitaSoft, which is headquartered in Grenoble, France, is a provider of open source business solutions.
StepLeader said on Wednesday that it has raised $4.4 million in its latest financing round. River Cities Capital Funds was the lead investor with additional financing provided by Bull City Venture Partners. Also, Ed McCarthy and Rik Vandevenne of River Cities will join StepLeader’s board of directors. StepLeader, which is based in Raleigh, NC, provides mobile app development and advertising sales for local media and college sports.
AirWatch said on Thursday that it has received $25 million from Accel Partners. AirWatch is a mobile security provider that is based in Atlanta with offices worldwide.
