Newport Beach, California-based Blast, which uses game mechanics to improve outcomes for gamers, game companies and the financial services industry, has raised $5 million in seed funding. The investors in this round included the Forbes and Roth families, Core Innovation Capital, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Snowmass Private Equity and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
Boston and Chicago-based Scout Exchange, a platform for marketplace recruiting, has raised $100 million in funding. The investor was TRI Ventures, John Chuang's investment vehicle.
Malaysia-based Carsome, a used car platform, has secured $19 million in Series B funding. Burda Principal Investments led the round with participation from return backers Gobi Partners, InnoVen Capital and Lumia Capital.
BioCatch, a provider of behavioral biometrics, has secured $30 million in financing. Maverick Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included American Express Ventures, NexStar Partners, Kreos Capital, CreditEase, OurCrowd and JANVEST Capital.
TAE Life Sciences, a developer of treatments for difficult to treat cancers, has raised $40 million in Series A funding. ARTIS Ventures led the round.
Austin, Texas-based TurnKey Vacation Rentals Inc, a vacation rental property management, has secured $31 million in Series D funding. Adams Street Partners led the round with participation from other investors that included Altos Ventures.
GTR Ventures, an investment and venture-building trade and supply chain-focused platform, has invested in five trade fintech companies: Tradeteq, Trade Finance Market, Culum Capital, eFundSME and Incomlend. The collective value of the transactions is around $50 million.
Jerusalem-based OurCrowd, a global equity crowdfunding platform, has opened a new office in London. Lina White, a former Goldman Sachs banker who is OurCrowd's new director of investor relations, will lead the UK operations.
Seattle-based Unearth, a provider of construction software, has raised $3 million in funding. Madrona Venture Group led the round with participation from Vulcan Capital. In conjunction with the funding, S. Somasegar, a managing director at Madrona, will join Unearth's board of directors.
Radiology Partners, a physician-led and physician-owned radiology practice, has raised $234 million in funding. New Enterprise Associates and Future Fund led the round.
