Mountain View, California-based Smartcar, a connected car technology platform, has raised $10 million in Series A financing. New Enterprise Associates led the round with participation from Andreessen Horowitz. In conjunction with the funding, Forest Baskett from NEA and William Krause from Andressen Horowitz, will join Smartcar's board of directors.
Irvine, California-based Tagnos, a developer of a clinical logistics automation solution for hospitals and clinics, has secured $5 million in funding. The investors were Benhamou Global Ventures, Morpheus Ventures and Zebra Ventures, the investment arm of Zebra Technologies Corp.
New York City-based Blueprint Income, a digital retirement plan creator, has secured $2.75 million in seed funding. Green Visor Capital and NextView Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Core Innovation Capital and Kairos.
Israeli agricultural startup Saturas Ltd has raised $4 million in funding. The investors included Hubei Forbon Technology Co. Ltd, Gefen Capital and Ramat Magshimim. Saturas is a portfolio company of The Treadlines Group Ltd.
Reputation.com has acquired SIM Partners, a provider of location marketing technology. SIM Partners' backers included River Cities Capital Funds and Jump Capital.
New York City-based Quentis Therapeutics, a biotech company that focuses on treating cancer patients, has raised $48 million in Series A funding. The investors included Versant Ventures, Polaris Partners, AbbVie Ventures, Taiho Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd, Yonghua Capital, Alexandria Venture Investments and New York Ventures, the investment arm of Empire State Development.
San Francisco-based Collective Health, a healthcare platform, has raised $110 million in funding. The investors included New Enterprise Associates, Founders Fund, GV, Maverick Ventures, Sun Life Financial and Mubadala Ventures.
San Francisco-based Coalition Inc, a cyber insurer, has raised $10 million in Series A funding. The investors included Vy Capital, Ribbit Capital, Valor Equity Partners, Y Combinator President Sam Altman and Deep Nishar, senior managing director of Softbank Vision Fund.
Sante Ventures is seeking to raise $200 million for its third fund, according to an SEC filing. The Austin, Texas-based venture firm invests in early-stage life sciences and healthcare companies.
Splunk Inc has agreed to acquire Phantom Cyber Corp, a security automation provider, for about $350 million. The deal is expected to close during the first half of this year. Phantom Cyber's backers included TechOperators and Blackstone.
