Boston-based Indico, a provider of enterprise machine learning solutions for unstructured content, has secured $4 million in seed funding. Osage Venture Partners led the round with previous backers .406 Ventures, Boston Seed and Hyperplane.

Grove Collaborative, an ecommerce platform for natural home and personal care products, has raised $35 million in Series C financing. Norwest Venture Partners led the round with participation from return backers Mayfield Fund, MHS Capital, Bullpen Capital, NextView Ventures, Serious Change and John Replogle. In conjunction with the funding. Jeff Crowe, a managing partner at Norwest Venture Partners, has joined the company’s board of directors.

San Jose, California-based Babblabs, a deep learning speech startup, has raised $4 million in funding. Cognite Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Jerry Yang, founding partner of AME Cloud Ventures.

Machine learning startup Understand.ai has secured $2.8 million in seed funding, according to a blog post. LEA Partners led the round with participation from other investors that included Frontline Ventures, Synapse Partners and Agile Partners.

Seattle and San Diego-based LumaTax, a provider of software that streamlines sales tax compliance for small businesses, has raised $3 million in financing. Cowboy Ventures led the round with participation from Madrona Venture Group, Greycroft Partners and Vulcan Capital.

Data Nerds, a data products provider, has secured $3 million in Series A funding, according to a blog post. The investors included Foundry Group and Techstars Ventures.

Seattle-based Usermind, which provides a unified platform for orchestrating business operations, has raised $23.5 million in Series C funding. Northgate Capital led the round with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Menlo Ventures and CRV.

Point Richmond, California-based Urban Remedy, a provider of organic, non-GMO and fresh food products, has secured $17 million in Series B funding. The lead investor was 301 INC. In addition to the funding, John Foraker will join Urban Remedy's board of directors.

Maverick Ventures has raised over $130 million for its debut fund, according to an SEC filing. The early-stage venture firm invests in the healthcare and tech sectors.

Silicon Valley-based Sparta Science, a sports tech company, has raised $7 million in Series A funding. Playground Global led the round.
