UK-based eToro, a social trading and investment platform, has raised $100 million in Series E funding. China Minsheng Financial led the round with participation from other investors that included SBI Group, Korea Investment Partners and World Wide Invest. Rothschild provided financial advice to eToro on the transaction.
Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Rheos Medicines, a biopharmaceutical company, has raised $60 million in Series A funding. The investor was Third Rock Ventures.
San Francisco-based Blockchain Capital, a venture firm focused on the blockchain technology sector and crypto ecosystem, has raised $150 million for its fourth fund. Blockchain Capital IV's limited partners include fund of funds, foundations, strategic investors and family offices. In conjunction with the fundraising, Blockchain has promoted Spencer Bogart from managing director and head of research to partner.
London-based venture firm Balderton Capital is expanding its investment team with three new hires. Joining Balderton are Isabel Bescos, Cayetana Hurtado and Diane Albouy.
San Francisco-based AdStage, a closed-loop reporting and automation platform for paid marketers, has secured $3 million in funding. Forté Ventures, HubSpot and Verizon Ventures led the round.
Sydney, Australia-based Ansarada, a global business readiness platform provider, has raised $18 million in Series A funding. Ellerston Capital led the round with participation from Tempus Partners, Belay Capital and Australian Ethical Investments.
Santa Barbara, California-based BioIQ, a healthcare technology, has raised $26.5 million in funding. HealthQuest Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included Arboretum Ventures.
Sunstone Capital, a European early-stage venture firm, has divested 1.6 million shares or about 50 percent of its stake in Asetek AS, a Danish provider of liquid cooling solutions for data centers, servers and PCs. Sunstone will distribute the proceeds of more than NOK 150 million (about $19.4 million) to the Danish Growth Fund, the Danish state investment fund, which will reinvest the proceeds in other Danish growth companies. As a result of the transaction, Sunstone retains ownership of about 1.6 million shares in Asetek.
San Francisco-based Amity Ventures has raised over $48 million for its new fund, according to an SEC filing. The target is $300 million.
Spero Ventures, a spin-out of Omidyar Network, a philanthropic investment firm funded by eBay co-founder Pierre Omidyar, has launched and raised $100 million for its debut fund, according to a blog post by Shripriya Mahesh, the new venture firm's founding partner. The fund's investor is Omidyar.
