Massachusetts-based Sheprd, an on-demand bus for the modern family, has raised $1 million in funding. The backer was InMotion Ventures.
Wilbraham, Massachusetts-based FloDesign Sonics, a provider of acoustic separation technology, has secured an undisclosed amount of funding. The investor was Dynamk Capital.
Danish technology and learning company Area9 Lyceum has secured $30 million in funding. The investor was The Danish Growth Fund.
Cadre, a real estate investment platform, has secured $250 million from Goldman Sachs' private wealth clients. The transaction will allow Goldman's clients to invest in a portfolio of U.S. commercial real estate assets. Cadre is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Khosla Ventures, Ford Foundation, Thrive Capital and General Catalyst.
Cloudvirga, a developer of intelligent mortgage point-of-sale platforms, has named Sean McEvoy as chief customer officer. His work background includes roles at IBM, Quest Software (acquired by Dell in 2012) and FileNET. Cloudvirga’s backers include Dallas Capital, Upfront Ventures and Tribeca Angels.
Silicon Valley-based StackShare, a software discovery platform, has raised $5.2 million in Series A funding. The lead investor was e.ventures with participation from other investors that included Cervin Ventures.
Sonoma Brands, a growth equity firm in Sonoma California, has closed its second fund at $60 million. In keeping with the firm's continuing strategy, the fund will focus on high-growth consumer brands as well as incubating new concepts.
MathCapital, an early-stage venture firm, has launched. Joe Zawadzki and Eric Franchi are serving as partners of MathCapital. The firm will focus on technology and services "that create measurable business outcomes for marketers." MathCapital will work closely with programmatic marketing company MediaMath.
Salesforce is acquiring data storage startup Attic Labs, the latter announced on its site. No financial terms were disclosed. Attic Labs was backed by Greylock Partners and Harrison Metal, according to Crunchbase.
Barcelona-based Red Points, which provides a solution for brands and content owners to counterfeiting online and digital piracy, has secured $12 million in Series B funding, according to an announcement on the site. Northzone led the round with participation from Mangrove and Sabadell Venture Capital.
