Kenmei Technologies, a Spanish specialized company working on mobile network intelligence and automation, has raised 1 million euros in seed funding. The investors were GoHub Ventures, the investment vehicle of Global Omnium and R2 Seed Investments.
China-based IceKredit, a credit evaluation institution for small and micro big data-focused businesses, has raised $47 million in funding. The investors include Frees Fund, Yunqi Partners, China Creation Ventures and Youzu Interactive.
Columbus, Ohio-based Root Insurance, a property casualty insurtech company, has secured $350 million in Series E funding. DST Global and Coatue led the round with participation from Drive Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Ribbit Capital, Scale Venture Partners and Tiger Global Management.
McRock Capital, a Canadian industrial internet-of-things venture capital firm, has raised C$80 million for its second venture fund. The target is C$100 million. Investors of McRock Fund II LP include Cisco Investments, Shell, BDC Capital, Export Development Canada, Alberta Enterprise Corporation and HarbourVest. Co-founded by Scott MacDonald and Whitney Rockley, McRock invests exclusively in industrial IoT companies across Canada, the US, and Europe.
Paris-based Spendesk, a spend management platform for small to mid-sized businesses, has raised $38 million in Series B funding. Index Ventures led the round.
Clio, a provider of cloud-based legal technology, has raised US$250 million in Series D funding. The investors were TCV and JMI Equity. Raymond James served as a buyside financial adviser to TCV on this transaction. According to the announcement of this fundraising, it "marks one of the largest in legal technology, the largest in Canadian history, and a definitive shift for the future of the legal industry." Clio has offices in Toronto, Calgary, Los Angeles and Ireland.
Zippity, an onsite car care provider for the workplace, has raised $3 million in seed funding. Schooner Capital led the round with participation from BP Ventures and LaunchPad Ventures.
London-based Spirable, a provider of personalized video marketing automation, has raised 6 million pounds in Series A funding. Smedvig Capital led the round with participation from Frontline Ventures, Downing Ventures and 24 Haymarket.
RippleMatch, a job hiring platform, has raised $6 million in Series A funding, according to a Medium blog post. The backers were G20 Ventures, Accomplice, Bullpen Capital and AlleyCorp.
SoftBank Group Corp has invested $10 million in Exeger. Based in Sweden, Exeger is a manufacturer of a carbon positive material that converts light energy to electrical energy.
