UK-based Atlas Genetics, a near patient and point-of-care testing company, has named Marc Jones as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Previously, Jones worked at Good Start Genetics, where he served as COO and CFO. Atlas Genetics is backed by Novartis Venture Fund, Consort Medical, Wondfo Biotech, LSP Venture Capital, BB Biotech, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, RMI Investments and Southwest Ventures Fund.
New Albany, Ohio-based Myonexus Therapeutics Inc, a developer of transformative gene therapies for limb-girdle muscular dystrophies, has closed $2.5 million in seed financing. The investors included CincyTech LLC, Rev1 Ventures, The Jain Foundation and GFB ONLUS.
Accelerator Corp, a life science investment and management firm, has named Dr. Kendall Mohler as chief development officer and Ian Howes as chief financial officer. Previously, Mohler was senior vice president of research at Juno Therapeutics Inc while Howes was the CFO of Heart Metabolics.
Lincoln, Nebraska-based Virtual Incision Corporation, a medical device company, has raised $18 million in Series B funding. Sinopharm Capital and Bluestem Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included PrairieGold Venture Partners.
Tilson Technology Management, a provider of information technology professional services and network construction solutions, has raised $5 million in Series D funding. The investors included Rand Capital.
Workboard, a provider of active strategy management software, has raised $9.3 million in Series A funding. The investors included Floodgate and Microsoft Ventures.
Girlboss, a new women's empowerment brand, has raised $2 million in funding. Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round with participation from other investors that included Atom Factory.
Indianapolis-based High Alpha, a venture studio, has named Jeff Slobotski as an entrepreneur-in-residence. In addition to his new role at High Alpha, Slobotski will continue as managing partner at Router Ventures.
Upstream Security, a cybersecurity platform provider for connected cars and self-driving vehicles, has raised $9 million in Series A funding. Charles River Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Glilot Capital Partners and Maniv Mobility.
CrossBorder Solutions, a provider of corporate tax software and services, has raised $6 million in Series A funding. Kennet Partners led the round.
