Austin, Texas-based Slingshot Aerospace, a satellite data startup, has raised $3.25 million in funding. ATX Seed Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Okapi Venture Capital, Sway Ventures and NoName Ventures.
Israel-based Talenya, a technology-based recruitment company, has raised $3 million in funding. The investors included Lool Ventures and Gal Ventures.

ESS Inc., a maker of flow energy storage systems, has raised $13 million in Series B funding. The investors included BASF, Cycle Capital Management, Presidio Partners Investment Management, InfraPartners Management and Pangaea Ventures.
Heartbeat, a two-way brand endorsement platform, has raised $1 million in seed funding. Sinai Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Right Side Capital Management.
Marina Del Rey, California-based Aspiration, a financial firm "with a conscience," has secured $47 million in Series B funding. Social Impact Finance led the round with other investors that included Allen and Company, Omidyar Network, Alpha Edison, AGO Partners, Reyl & Cie, Capricorn Investments and Orlando Bloom.
Scale Venture Partners has named Eric Anderson as a principal, according to a blog post on the firm's site. Previously, Anderson worked at Google where he served as a product manager in the data analytics and machine learning group within Google Cloud.
Palo Alto, California-based Simility, a provider of fraud prevention solutions, has raised $17.5 million in funding. Accel led the round with participation from PayPal Inc, The Valley Fund and Trinity Ventures.
