Boston-based ClimaCell, a software-based hyper-local weather forecasting company, has secured $15 million in Series A funding. Canaan led the round with participation from Fontinalis Partners and Square Peg Capital.
LeafLink, a marketplace for wholesale cannabis, has raised $10 million in Series A funding. Nosara Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Casa Verde Capital, Wisdom VC, Phyto Partners, TIA Ventures and Brand New Matter.
NextWorld Capital has raised over $134 million for its second fund, according to an SEC filing. With offices in San Francisco, Paris and London, NextWorld invests in enterprise tech startups.
New York City-based Candid Co, a teeth straightening startup, has raised $15 million in Series A funding. Greycroft, Bessemer and e.ventures led the round with other investors that included Arena Ventures.
Paris-based Step Pharma, a developer of a novel class of oral nucleotide synthesis inhibitors, has secured 14.5 million euros in Series A financing. The investors included Pontifax, Kurma Partners, Bpifrance, Inserm Transfert Initiative, Idinvest, Sygnature Discovery and the Imagine Institute.
San Francisco-based Lightform Inc, an augmented reality hardware company, has secured $5 million in funding. Lux Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included Dolby Family Ventures, CrunchFund, Comet Labs, Presence Capital and Anorak Ventures.
Cloudvirga, a developer of intelligent mortgage point-of-sale platforms, has named Steve DeSantis as its new chief financial officer. Previously, DeSantis was CFO for ShiftPixy. Cloudvirga's backers include Dallas Capital, Upfront Ventures and Tribeca Angels.
San Mateo, California-based PacketZoom, a mobile networking platform provider, has secured $5 million in Series A funding. Baseline Ventures led the round with participation from First Round Capital, Tandem Capital and Arafura Ventures.
Seedcamp, a pan-European seed investor, has raised 41 million pounds for its fourth fund that will focus on European startups. The investors of SeedCamp Fund IV include Investec, Unilever Ventures, Thomas Cook Money, MassMutual Ventures, ADV, Index Ventures, Atomico, Idinvest Partners, Underscore Ventures, Speedinvest and British Business Bank.
Overclock Labs, a newly launched developer of tools for automating distributed cloud infrastructure, has secured $1.3 million in seed funding. The investors included CrunchFund.
