Fantasy sports company FanDuel has appointed Matt King as its new CEO, effective immediately. King, a former chief financial officer at FanDuel and ex-director at KKR, is succeeding Nigel Eccles, who is leaving the company and quitting the board of directors to focus on his next venture. FanDuel's backers include KKR, Google Capital, Time Warner/Turner Sports, Shamrock Capital, NBC Sports Ventures, Comcast Ventures, Pentech Ventures, Piton Capital and Bullpen Capital.
WorldQuant Ventures has named Mark Danchak as a managing director. Previously, Danchak worked at Carbon6 Ventures where he was a partner.
Crosslink Capital is seeking to raise $250 million for its eighth fund, according to an SEC filing. In February 2015, the San Francisco-based early-stage venture firm raised $170 million for its seventh fund.
Los Altos, California-based AISense, an artificial intelligence startup, has secured $10 million in Series A funding. Horizons Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Tim Draper’s Draper Associates and Draper Dragon Fund, David Cheriton and Bridgewater Associates. In addition to the funding, Bart Swanson, an adviser at Horizons Ventures, has joined the AISense board.
TransferMate, a B2B payments provider, has raised 30 million euros in funding. The investor was Allied Irish Banks. As a result of the transaction, AIB now has a "small" minority equity ownership stake in TransferMate. Perella Weinberg Partners LP served as the exclusive strategic and financial adviser to TransferMate on the transaction while EY was financial and tax due diligence adviser to AIB.
Indonesia-based aCommerce Co. Ltd, an ecommerce enabler and e-distributor, has secured $65 million in Series B funding. KKR-backed Emerald Media led the round with participation from previous backers that included Blue Sky, MDI Ventures and DKSH. North Ridge Partners served as adviser on the transaction.
Scalyr, a log management and server monitoring service, has raised $20 million in Series A funding. Shasta Ventures led the round with participation from previous backers Bloomberg Beta, Susa Ventures and Heroic Ventures.
London-based Zego, an insurance provider, has secured 6 million pounds in Series A funding. The investor was Balderton Capital.
VidMob, a video creation platform, has raised $7.5 million in Series A funding. The investors included Manifest Investment Partners, Interlock Partners, Stampede Ventures, Acadia Woods Partners and Macanta Investments.
Charlotte, North Carolina-based Diamond Orthopedic, a medical device company, has secured $3.5 million in seed funding. MagnaSci Fund LP led the round.
