Boston-based LifeMine Therapeutics, a drug discovery platform provider, has raised $55 million in Series A financing. WuXi Healthcare Ventures led the round with participation from Foresite Capital, GV, Arch Ventures, Boyu Capital, Blue Pool Capital, Merck Ventures and Alexandria Venture Investments.
Livonia, Michigan-based Ushr Inc, a provider of mapping technology and software for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles, has secured $10 million in Series A funding. Forté Ventures led the round with participation from EnerTech Capital, Emerald Technology Ventures and GM Ventures.
SimpleFinance, a lender for small and medium-sized businesses in Russia, has secured an undisclosed amount of funding. The investor was the SBI FinTech Fund.
Ellevest, a digital investment platform for women, has secured $34.6 million in funding. Rethink Impact led the round with participation from other investors that included PSP Growth, Salesforce Ventures, CreditEase Fintech Investment Fund, LH Holdings, SK Impact Fund, LLC, Morningstar, Khosla Ventures, Mellody Hobson, Ulu Ventures, Contour Venture Partners and Astia Angels. In addition to the funding, Jenny Abramson, Rethink Impact’s founder and managing partner, will join Ellevest's board.
San Francisco and Tel Aviv-based Panoply, a smart data warehouse provider, has secured $5 million in funding, raising its total Series A tally to $13 million. The investor was C5 Capital. In addition to the funding, Panoply has named Michael Canon as vice president of worldwide sales and Paul Friesen as vice president of marketing. And, Moisey Uretsky, co-founder and chief product officer at Digital Ocean, has joined Panoply's advisory board.
Washington, D.C.-based Dharma, a software-as-a-service data platform, has secured an undisclosed amount of Series A funding. The Rise Fund, which is managed by TPG Growth, led the round.
Indianapolis-based Costello, a deal management platform provider, has raised $1 million in funding. Dundee Venture Capital led the round with participation from Elevate Ventures, M25 Group and Service Provider Capital.
Flagship Pioneering has set a $500 million target for its sixth fund, according to an SEC filing. The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based venture firm invests in the biotech, healthcare and software sectors.
New Zealand-based AskNicely, a customer feedback platform, has secured NZ$6.7 million in funding. Blackbird Ventures led the round.
Online lender SoFi has named Executive Chairman Tom Hutton as interim CEO. His appointment became effective immediately after SoFi board of directors accepted company co-founder and CEO Mike Hagney's resignation following the disclosure earlier this week of sexual harassment allegations levelled against him. The managing director of XL Innovate, Hutton was appointed to the SoFi board in June 2012. SoFi's backers include SoftBank and Silver Lake Partners.
