New York-based Genvid, a game techology solutions provider, has raised $2.5 million in funding. March Capital Partners led the round with participation from OCA Ventures.
Vemo Education, which helps postsecondary institutions develop, launch, and implement income share agreements, has raised $7.4 million in seed funding. University Ventures and NextGen Venture Partners led the round with participation from Route 66 Ventures, Third Kind Venture Capital, Haystack Partners and Task Force X Capital.
Montreal-based SpecificiT Pharma Inc, a developer of personalized hematological cancer immunotherapies, has secured an undisclosed amount of seed funding. The investors were AmorChem, Sanderling Ventures and Accel-Rx Health Sciences Accelerator. In addition to the funding, Dr. Pierre Beauparlant, a venture partner at Sanderling Ventures, will become CEO of SpecificiT.
London-based venture firm Talis Capital has promoted Thomas Williams to principal, Matthew De Jesus to senior associate and Rachel Muzyczka to associate. And, Diogo Coelho is joining the firm as vice president.
Credit card startup Petal has raised $3.6 million million in seed funding. The investors included Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, Afore Capital, Rosecliff Ventures, Guild Capital, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Story Ventures and Silicon Badia.
Red Ventures, a digital consumer choice platform, has acquired Atlanta-based Allconnect LLC, a technology-enabled sales and marketing solutions company. The sellers included Covestco and Maveron. No financial terms were disclosed. Petsky Prunier advised Allconnect on the deal.
DataCubes, a data science platform for the commercial insurance industry, has closed $2.5 million in Series A funding. Seyen Capital and MK Capital led the round.
Seattle-based TraceMe, a social media startup founded by Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding, according to a blog post. (Fortune reported the amount to be $9 million). Matt McIlwain from Madrona Venture Group led the round with participation from other investors that included Bezos Expeditions; Chad Hurley, co-founder of YouTube; Joe Tsai, co-founder of Alibaba; Kenny Dichter, founder of Wheels Up; and Mike Mahan, president of Dick Clark Productions.
New York City-based Talkspace, a provider of online therapy, has raised $31 million in Series C financing. Qumra led the round with participation from previous backers that included Norwest Venture Partners, Spark Capital, SoftBank, Compound Ventures and FirstTime. In addition to the funding, Erez Shachar, a managing partner at Qumra Capital, will join the Talkspace board of directors.
Maestro, an engagement and analytics platform for enterprise live streamers, has raised $3 million in Series A financing. Hersh Interactive Group led the round with participation from Rubicon Venture Capital and the Stanford-StartX Fund.
