New Jersey-based Rowan University has launched a new $5 million venture fund. The pool will focus on new technology businesses and inventions through a competitive review process.
Trulioo has closed $6 million in a Series A financing. Tenfore Holdings led the round with participation from BDC Venture Capital and Blumberg Capital. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Trulioo is a provider of identity verification solutions.
BrightBytes said Wednesday that it has raised $15 million in Series B funding. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round with participation from return backers that include Rethink Education and Learn Capital. Headquartered in San Francisco, BrightBytes is an educational analytics provider.
NTT Finance Corp, which is part of the NTT Group, has made an undisclosed investment in Quantenna Communications. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Quantenna Communications is a provider of Wi-Fi solutions. Its backers include DAG Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Sigma Partners, Southern Cross Venture Partners, Telefonica Ventures and Venrock.
Advertising platform Adbrain said Tuesday that it has closed $7.5 million in Series A funding. Octopus Investments led the round with participation from previous backer Notion Capital.
NextImage Medical, a portfolio company of Chrysalis Ventures, said Tuesday that it has completed its acquisition of WorkWell. No financial terms were disclosed. The company has also named Liz Griggs, the chairman and CEO of Nextimage, as CEO of the combined company. Based in Duluth, Minnesota, WorkWell is a provider of soft tissue injury prevention and treatment solutions.
SAP Ventures has hired Rami Branitzky as a managing director. Previously, Branitzky served as CEO of Grok Solutions.
TriVascular Technologies has filed for an IPO. The number of shares that will be offered as well as its pricing terms have yet to be set. The stock will trade on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "TRIV." J.P. Morgan Securities and Credit Suisse Securities are the lead underwriters. Based in Santa Rosa, Calif., TriVascular Technologies is a provider of endovascular aortic repair solutions. Its backers include NEA, Delphi Ventures, MPM Capital, Kearny Venture Partners, Kaiser Permanente Ventures, Rock Springs Capital and Permal Asset Management.
Complete Solar Solution said Tuesday that it has closed $5 million in funding. The Ecosystem Integrity Fund led the round. Based in Foster City, Calif., Complete Solar Solution is a provider of custom solar solutions.
Next Games has received $6 million in Series A funding. IDG Ventures and Jari Ovaskainen led the round with participation from Lowercase Capital, AMC Networks Ventures and York Ventures. Based in Finland, Next Games is a games developer.
