Aquinox Pharmaceuticals has raised $46.2 million for its IPO after pricing its 4.2 million shares at $11 per share. The stock began trading Friday on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "AGXP." Jefferies and Cowen and Company are the lead underwriters. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Aquinox Pharmaceuticals is a clinical stage pharmaceutical company focused on treating inflammatory disease and cancer. Its backers include Pfizer Venture Investments, Ventures West, Johnson & Johnson and Augment Investments.
Domain Surgical has received $35 million in financing. The investors include OrbiMed and BioStar Ventures. Leerink Partners was the placement agent for the transaction. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Domain Surgical is a producer of advanced thermal surgical technology.
Workable has secured $1.5 million in funding. Greylock IL led the round. Based in London and Athens, Workable is a provider of recruiting solutions for fast-growing businesses.
Wayfair said Friday that it has closed $157 million in Series B financing. T. Rowe Price Associates led the round with participation from TripAdvisor CFO Julie M.B. Bradley. Headquartered in Boston, Wayfair is an online retailer of home furnishings and decor. Its backers include Battery Ventures, Spark Capital, HarbourVest Partners and Great Hill Partners.
Quipper said Friday that it has received $5.8 million in funding. The investors included Atomico, Benesse Holdings and Globis Capital Partners. Based in London, Quipper is a learning platform.
According to a blog post on its site, General Assembly has closed $35 million in Series C funding. Institutional Venture Partners led the round with participation from investors that included GSV Capital, Rethink Education and Western Technology Investment. In addition to the funding, Todd Chaffee, general partner at IVP, will join General Assembly's board. Based in New York City, General Assembly is a provider of educational programming and support.
