Argos Therapeutics has raised about $45 million in its IPO after having priced its offering of 5.625 million shares at $8 per share. The stock began trading Friday on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "ARGS." Piper Jaffray & Co, Stifel, Nicolaus & Company and JMP Securities served as lead underwriters. Based in Durham, NC, Argos is a developer of immunotherapies that treat cancer and infectious diseases. Its backers include Forbio Capital Partners, TVM Capital, Lumira Capital, Intersouth Partners, Morningside Group, Green Cross Corp. and Aurora Funds.
Ad platform PubMatic has hired Terri Walter as its chief marketing officer. Previously, Walter worked at Microsoft Advertising where she served as head of global brand marketing. This appointment comes on the heels of PubMatic closing a $13 million round of funding in which the investors were Nokia Growth Partners, August Capital, DFJ, Helion Venture Partners and Nexus Venture Partners.
Melinta Therapeutics said Monday that it has raised $70 million in Series 3 financing. Vatera Healthcare Partners led the round. Headquartered in New Haven, Conn., Melinta is an antibiotics developer.
Shopgate said Monday that it has acquired MagCorp, a Magento developer. No financial terms were disclosed. Shopgate's backers include Creathor Venture Management and Northcap.
Remedy Pharmaceuticals said Monday that it has received an undisclosed investment from Broadview Ventures. Based in New York City, Remedy Pharmaceuticals is a clinical stage pharmaceutical company focused on developing drugs for acute central nervous system disorders.
ArborMetrix has received $1.3 million in Series B financing from Renaissance Venture Capital Fund and Detroit Innovate Fund. According to the company, the capital infusion will be used for national market expansion. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, ArborMetrix is a provider of real-time healthcare analytics.
PlaceIQ said Monday that it has closed $15 million in Series C financing. Harmony Partners led the round with participation from Iris Capital and previous backers from the company’s Series B round. Headquartered in New York City, PlaceIQ is a provider of location data for mobile ads.
TrekkSoft has secured $800,000 in funding. According to the company, the investors in this round also participated in its seed funding. TrekkSoft's current backers include Redalpine Capital II and the Innovation Fund of the Schwyzer Kantonalbank. Based in Switzerland and New York, TrekkSoft is a provider of online booking and payment solutions for tour providers.
iSocket said Monday that it has raised $5 million in new funding. Time Warner Investments led the round with participation from Condé Nast, R&R Venture Partners (a new fund created by Dick Parsons, former chairman and CEO of Time Warner and Ronald Lauder) and Vivi Nevo. Based in San Francisco, iSocket is a direct sales platform for online ads.
Rocketrip said Monday that it has raised $2.6 million in Series A funding. Canaan Partners led the round with participation from Genacast Ventures and various unnamed investors. Based in New York City, Rocketrip is a travel management platform that helps companies save money on travel expenses.
