Versa said Thursday that it has raised $2 million in seed funding. Omidyar Network led the round with participation from John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Quotidian Ventures. According to Versa, the capital infusion will be used for growth and expansion. Based in New York City, San Francisco and Philadelphia, Versa is a media technology company.
Bench Accounting said Thursday that it closed $1 million in funding. The investors were Contour Ventures, Alpine Meridian, Lerer Ventures, Quotidian Ventures and various unnamed angels. This $1 million is an add-on to the $2.1 million in seed funding that Bench raised last summer, bringing the total tally to $3.1 million. With offices in Vancouver and New York City, Bench Accounting is a provider of virtual bookkeeping services.
BlueCava said Thursday that it has raised $13 million in funding. The investors included S3 Ventures, Performance Edge Partners and Zeitgeist Capital. With offices in New York City and Irvine, Calif., BlueCava is a provider of digital advertising solutions.
New York-based Precision Health Media, a provider of contextual advertising technology, has rebranded itself as PageScience. The company's backers include Metamorphic Ventures and Cava Capital.
GNS Healthcare has secured $10 million in Series B financing. The investors included Cambia Health Solutions, Heritage Provider Network and Mitsui USA. Based in Cambridge, Mass., GNS Healthcare is a provider of big data analytics products and services for the healthcare sector.
Salesfusion said Thursday that it has bought LoopFuse. No financial terms were disclosed. The transaction comes on the heels of Salesfusion raising $8.25 million in Series B financing. Based in Atlanta, Loopfuse is a provider of marketing automation solutions. Salesfusion is backed by Hallett Capital, Noro-Moseley Partners and BLH Venture Partners.
Zopa has raised approximately $25 million in funding from Arrowgrass Capital Partners. As a result of the investment, Henry Kenner, CEO of Arrowgrass, has joined Zopa's board as a non-executive director. Based in London, Zopa is a peer-to-peer lending service. Its backers include Benchmark, Bessemer Venture Partners, Augmentum Capital and Wellington Partners.
Cleverbug said Thursday that it has raised $6 million in financing. Delta Partners led the round. Based in Dublin, Ireland, Cleverbug is a social gifting company and developer of the CleverCards app.
Bow & Drape has received $1.2 million in funding. The investors included VegasTechFund, Great Oaks Venture Capital and Triple Point Capital. Headquartered in New York City, Bow & Drape is a fashion platform that allows women to customize clothes.
Fitbay.com has closed $400,000 in funding. The investors were Jesper Buch, founder of Just-Eat and Creandum. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Fitbay is a social shopping network.
