Rocketmiles has secured $6.5 million in Series A funding. August Capital led the round with participation from Peterson Ventures, Link Ventures, Atlas Venture, Chicago Ventures and Match.com CEO Sam Yagan. Based in Chicago and Boston, Rocketmiles is a travel booking site that offers customers miles incentives.
Nebula has hired Vish Ishaya as chief technology officer. The appointment is effective immediately. Ishaya was a a member of the NASA team that created OpenStack. Based in Mountain View, Calif., Nebula is a private cloud company. Its backers include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Comcast Ventures and Highland Capital Partners.
Kurion said Wednesday that it has agreed to to acquire Vista Engineering Technologies. No financial terms were disclosed. Also, Phil Ohl, president and CEO of Vista Engineering, has been named chief operating officer of Kurion while David Brockman will oversee the combined company's domestic business as senior vice president. Based in Richland, Wash., Vista Engineering is a full-service engineering, design and tech company. Kurion is backed by Lux Capital, Firelake Capital Management and Acadia Woods Partners.
Achaogen has filed for an IPO. The number of shares to be offered and the pricing terms have yet to be set. Credit Suisse Securities and Cowen and Company are serving as lead underwriters. Based in South San Francisco, Achaogen is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing antibiotics to treat bacterial infections. Its backers include 5AM Ventures, ARCH Venture Partners, Venrock, Versant Ventures, Frazier Healthcare Ventures, Domain Associates and Alta Partners.
Yiftee said Tuesday that that it has closed $2.1 million in Series A funding. Dr. Peter Fitzgerald of TransPacific Ventures led the round with participation from Intuit co-founder Scott Cook, Burt Sugarman with his wife, TV personality Mary Hart, Asset Management Company, Jillian Manus of Broad Strategy Fund and Michael J. Levinthal. In conjunction with the funding Fitzgerald will join Yiftee's board. Based in Menlo Park, Calif., Yiftee is a gifting app.
Health Catalyst said Tuesday that it has secured $41 million in funding. The investors were Sequoia Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, Kaiser Permanente Ventures, Sorenson Capital, CHV Capital and Partners HealthCare. Based in Salt Lake City, Health Catalyst is a provider of healthcare data warehousing and analytics.
Easy Ice has raised $20 million in funding. New York-based Saratoga Investment Corp. was the lead investor. Based in Michigan, Easy Ice is a provider of ice machine subscriptions.
Indiegogo said Tuesday that it has closed $40 million in Series B funding. Institutional Venture Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round with participation from existing investors Insight Venture Partners, MHS Capital, Metamorphic Ventures and ff Venture Capital. Headquartered in San Francisco, Indiegogo is a crowdfunding platform.
SOLS Systems has raised $1.75 million in seed financing. Lux Capital led the round with participation from RRE Ventures, Rothenberg Ventures, Terrawatt Ventures, Smart Garden and Advanced Laser Materials. SOLS Systems is a maker of customized wearables.
Voxeet said Tuesday that it has closed $1.5 million in seed funding. Partech Ventures led the round with participation from Aquiti and Kima Ventures. Based in Silicon Valley and Bordeaux, France, Voxeet is a conferencing services provider.
