Insight Venture Partners has named Euan Menzies as a venture partner. Menzies is the former CEO of Vertafore. Based in New York City, Insight Venture Partners is a private equity and VC firm that invests in the software, internet, and data services sectors.
FRX Polymers said Wednesday that it has raised $12 million in Series C financing. Evonik Venture Capital led the round with participation from current backers Capricorn Venture Partners, DB Masdar Cleantech Fund, SAM Private Equity, BASF Venture Capital, Israel Cleantech Ventures, Triton Systems and some of the company’s founders. Headquartered in Chelmsford, Mass., FRX Polymers is a producer of flame retardant plastics.
Tyrant Interactive Media said Wednesday that it has received $1 million in funding from Legion Capital America. A subsidiary of King Midas World Entertainment, Tyrant Interactive Media is a developer and publisher of software, platforms and interactive games.
HireVue said Wednesday that it has raised $25 million in funding. Sequoia Capital led the round with participation from return backers Investor Growth Capital, Granite Ventures, Peterson Ventures and Rose Park Advisors. HireVue is a digital recruiting platform.
Algolia said Tuesday that it has secured $1.5 million in seed funding from Index Ventures, Point Nine Capital and Alven Capital. Based in Paris, Algolia is a provider of search solutions for developers.
Leaf said Tuesday that it has raised $20 million in funding from Heartland Payment Systems. Based in Cambridge, Mass., Leaf is a provider of mobile payment solutions for local merchants.
Wrike said Tuesday that it has closed $10 million in Series A financing from Bain Capital Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Todd MacLean, managing director at Bain Capital Ventures and Tim Maly, senior vice president at SurveyMonkey, have joined Wrike's board. Based in California, Wrike is a provider of project management and collaboration software solutions.
MokiMobility has raised $6.6 million in funding. Investors included EPIC Ventures, Pelion Venture Partners, Allegis Capital and Plus550. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, MokiMobility is a provider of cloud-based solutions for managing and monitoring tablets and smartphones.
Cydan said Tuesday that it has closed $10 million in financing. New investors Lundbeckfond Ventures and Bay City Capital led the round with participation from return backers NEA and Alexandria Venture Investments. Also, Mette Kirstine Agger, managing partner at Lundbeckfond Ventures and Dr. Carl Goldfischer, investment partner and managing director at Bay City Capital, join Cydan’s board of directors. Based in Cambridge, Mass., Cydan, which is also backed by Pfizer Venture Investments and Alexandria Venture Investments, is an orphan drug accelerator that aims to identify and “de-risk” programs with therapeutic and commercial potential.
