Burner said Thursday that it has raised $2 million in funding. Founder Collective and Venrock led the round with participation from 500 Startups, David Cohen and TenOneTen. As a result of this funding, David Frankel of Founder Collective and Marissa Campise of Venrock will join Burner's board. Burner is an app designed to give consumers greater control of their personal data.
Neurotrack said Thursday that it has received $2 million in Series A funding. Founders Fund led the round with participation from The Social+Capital Partnership and several angel investors. Based in Palo Alto, Calif. and Cambridge, Mass., Neurotrack is a provider of technology that can aid in the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.
RidePal said Thursday that it has closed $3.2 million in Series A financing. Claremont Creek Ventures and Volvo Group Venture Capital were the lead investors. Based in San Francisco, RidePal is a provider of commuter solutions for corporate employees.
GirlsAskGuys.com has raised $1 million in funding. St. Louis, Missouri-based private equity firm O’Brien Capital led the round. Also, Bob O’Brien, founder of O'Brien Capital and Jim McKelvey, co-founder of Square, have joined the GirlsAskGuys.com advisory board. GirlsAskGuys.com is an online community that fosters open dialogue between young men and women.
Shyp said Wednesday that it has raised $250,000 in seed funding. Investors included Tim Ferriss; Paypal President David Marcus; Homebrew's Hunter Walk and Satya Patel; and Google Earth founder Brian McClendon. Based in San Francisco, Shyp is an app designed to simply shipping.
San Francisco-based Gyft said Wednesday that it has secured $5 million in Series A funding. Investors included A-Grade Investments, Social+Capital Partnership and Karlin Ventures. Gyft, which was seeded by Google Ventures, Founder Collective and 500 Startups, is a digital gift card platform for consumers and retailers.
Urban Compass said Wednesday that it has received $20 million in Series A funding. Investors included Condé Nast parent company Advance Publications, Founders Fund, Thrive Capital, .406 Ventures and Salesforce.com founder and CEO Marc Benioff. Based in New York City, Urban Compass is a home rentals platform.
Hong Kong-based hotel booking app HotelQuickly said Wednesday that it has secured $1.16 million in Series A funding. Investors include former Singtel and Singapore Airlines Chairman Boon Hwee Koh and Temasek Holdings. According to the company, the capital will be used for expansion and product development.
Prosper Marketplace has closed $25 million in funding. Existing partner Sequoia Capital led the round with participation from BlackRock. The parent company of Prosper Funding, Prosper Marketplace is a peer-to-peer lender.
Frankly has closed $6 million in Series A funding. Investors included SK Planet and undisclosed angel investors. Based in San Francisco, Frankly is a next generation texting app.
