Silicor Materials has closed $6 million in funding from existing investor Hudson Clean Energy Partners. According to the company, the capital will be used for growth. Also, the company has hired Robert W. Baird & Co. to help with its next capital raise. Silicor Materials, which is backed by Advanced Technology Ventures, Globespan Capital Partners, Good Energies and Ventures West, is a provider of solar silicon and aluminum by-products.
CoreDial said Wednesday that it has received a $1.5 million loan from Silicon Valley Bank. The funds will be used for product development and to expand the company's client base. Based in Blue Bell, Penn., CoreDial is a provider of cloud communications software and services.
Check (formerly Pageonce) said Wednesday that it has closed $24 million in Series C financing. The lead investor was Menlo Ventures. Existing investors Morgenthaler Ventures and Pitango Venture Capital also participated in the round. In addition to the news about funding, Menlo Ventures’ Doug Carlisle joins Check’s board and Avery More, founder and former CEO of CompuCom, joins as an independent board member. Check is a provider of mobile payment solutions.
Otonomy said Wednesday that it has raised $45.9 million in Series C financing. The lead investor was OrbiMed Advisors. New investors Aperture Venture Partners and Osage University Partners also participated in the round as did existing investors Avalon Ventures, Domain Associates, Novo Ventures, RiverVest Venture Partners and TPG Biotech. In conjunction with the financing, OrbiMed's Chau Q. Khuong joins Otonomy's board of directors. Based in San Diego, Calif., Otonomy is a biopharmaceutical company that develops treatments for ear disorders and diseases.
CommonBond said Wednesday it has closed over $100 million in financing. The lead investor was Tribeca Venture Partners. Other investors included The Social + Capital Partnership, former Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit, former Thomson Reuters CEO Thomas Glocer, and former Barclays senior executive Tom Kalaris. Based in Brooklyn, NY, CommonBond is a student lending platform.
KeyLemon has closed a Series A investment, which a company spokesperson confirms to be at $1.5 million. The lead investors were Debiopharm Investment, a unit of the Debiopharm Group and Swisscom Ventures. Based in Switzerland, KeyLemon is a provider of face recognition software.
Quantia said Tuesday that it has raised $10 million in Series B financing. Safeguard Scientifics was the lead investor. Existing investors, which include Fuse Capital, also participated in the round. Headquartered in Waltham, Mass., Quantia is a creator of QuantiaMD, a physician relationship management platform.
Vestiaire Collective has closed $20 million in Series C funding. The lead investor was Condé Nast International. Existing investors Balderton Capital and Ventech Capital as well as new investor Idinvest Partners also participated in the round. In conjunction with the funding, Condé Nast International's James Bilefield will join Vestiaire's board. Based in Paris, Vestiaire Collective is a luxury goods resale platform.
Electric Cloud said Tuesday that it has closed $8 million. The lead investor was Siemens' Venture Capital. Existing investors US Venture Partners, Mayfield Fund, RRE Ventures and Rembrandt Venture Partners also participated in the round. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., Electric Cloud is a provider of software solutions.
Zazma said Tuesday that it has received $10 million in financing from Sequoia Capital and Spark Capital. According to the company, the capital will be used for expansion. Based in New York City, Zazma is a provider of short-term financing for small businesses.
