NoRedInk said Thursday that it has closed $2 million in funding. The investors included Google Ventures, The Social+Capital Partnership, Learn Capital and Charles River Ventures. Based in San Francisco, Calif., NoRedInk is a learning platform that helps students improve their grammar and writing skills.
Life.SREDA, a venture capital fund that focuses on financial technology-based mobile and internet projects, has made an undisclosed investment in Moven. Backed by Fintech investors, Anthemis Group and Raptor Ventures, Moven is a digital, mobile-direct banking service.
TissueTech said Thursday that it has raised $10 million in financing from Ballast Point Ventures and River Cities Capital Funds. Based in Miami, Florida, TissueTech is a provider of regenerative tissue engineering.
TagMan said Thursday that it has closed $5 million in funding. The lead investors were Greycroft Partners and iNovia Capital. Silicon Valley Bank also participated in the round. TagMan, which has offices in New York and London, is a provider of tag management and marketing data soutions for e-commerce professionals and digital marketers.
TranSwitch Corp. said Thursday that it has closed $2.5 million from Ilex Partners. According to TranSwitch, the financing will be used for "general corporate and working capital purposes." Based in Shelton, Conn., TranSwitch Corp. is a provider of semiconductor solutions.
Coursera, a provider of online education, has named Lila Ibrahim as its first president, according to an announcement on the company's blog. TrendKite said Wednesday that it has closed $1.2 million in Series A funding. The lead investor was Silverton Partners. DreamIt Ventures, Inovalon Founder Raymond Walheim, BlackLocus Founder/CEO Rodrigo Carvalho, OtherInbox Founder Joshua Baer and GameFly Founder Sean Spector also participated in the round. Based in Austin, Texas, TrendKite is a provider of marketing and media analytics.
PicCollage said Wednesday that it has raised $2.3 million in seed funding. Investors included 500 Startups, Floodgate Fund, Freestyle Capital, Quest Venture Partners, Sand Hill Angels and XG Ventures. Headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., PicCollage is a photo app.
Acutus Medical said Tuesday that it has raised $28 million in Series B funding. OrbiMed Advisors and GE Ventures were the lead investors. Existing backers Index Ventures and Advent Life Sciences also participated in the round. Based in San Diego, Calif., Acutus Medical is a a medical device company that focuses on treating irregular heart rhythms.
Morphlabs said Tuesday that it has closed $10 million in Series D financing. Tallwood Management and Entropy Research Lab were the lead investors. Existing investor G2iG also participated in the round. Headquartered in Los Angeles, Calif., Morphlabs is a provider of software solutions.
