Cleversafe said Tuesday that it has closed $55 million in Series D funding. The lead investor was New Enterprise Associates. New investor New World Ventures as well as major existing investors also participated in the round. And, Peter Barris, managing general partner at NEA, has joined Cleversafe’s board of directors. Headquartered in Chicago, Cleversafe is a provider of data storage solutions.
Axeda Corp. said Tuesday that it has raised $12 million in funding. The lead investor was JMI Equity. Wipro Ltd. and Mitsui & Co. also participated in the round. And, Axeda has named Todd DeSisto as president and CEO. Based in Foxboro, Mass. and Rochester, NY, Axeda Corp. is a provider of cloud-based solutions and software.
Maginatics said Tuesday that it has closed $17 million in Series B funding. The lead investor was Intel Capital. WestSummit Capital, Comcast Ventures and existing investors Atlantic Bridge and VMware also participated in the round. In addition to the news about the funding, Maginatics has named Dharmesh Thakker of Intel Capital and Raymond Yang of WestSummit Capital to its board of directors. Based in Mountain View, Calif., Maginatics is a provider of storage solutions.
Birst said Tuesday that it has closed $38 million in financing. The lead investor was Sequoia Capital. New investor Northgate Capital also participated in the round. According to Birst, the funding will be used for expansion, growth and product development. Headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., Birst is a cloud-based, business intelligence platform.
Chicago-based private equity firm Jump Capital has made a "multi-million dollar investment" in Champion Medical Technologies. According to Champion, the funding will be used for expansion, customer support and product development. Headquartered in Lake Zurich, Illinois, Champion Medical Technologies is a provider of medical software solutions.
SmartyPants Vitamins said Tuesday that it has received $2.59 million in financing from unnamed investors. The company partnered up with CircleUp, a crowdfunding investment platform, to raise the capital. Based in Venice, Calif., SmartyPants Vitamins is the maker of the All-in-One gummy vitamin brand.
Clustrix said Monday that it has raised $10 million in Series D funding. The lead investor was HighBar Partners. Existing investors Sequoia Capital, U.S. Venture Partners and ATA Ventures also participated in the round. Headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., Clustrix is a provider of cloud solutions.
Open Road has raised $11 million in Series C financing. The lead investor was NewSpring Capital. Existing investors Kohlberg Ventures, Azure Capital and Golden Seeds also participated in the round. Based in New York City, Open Road is a digital publisher and multimedia content company.
Specialty finance company CapX Partners has provided a "mid-seven figure" loan to Color Communications. The capital will be used by Color Communications to refinance its existing loans. Headquartered in Chicago, CCI is a producer of color cards, fan decks, color systems and automotive pigment sample sheets.
Newforma said Monday that it has raised $5.1 million in Series D funding. North Bridge Venture Partners, Kodiak Venture Partners and Borealis Ventures all participated in the round. Based in Manchester, NH, Newforma is a provider of project management software for architecture, engineering and construction firms.
