Kabam said Monday that it has sold $38.5 million worth of stock to undisclosed investors. According to Kabam, several existing as well as new investors participated in this secondary offering. As a result of the transaction, Kabam's valuation is now at $700 million. Kabam is an online gaming company whose backers include Google, Warner Brothers, MGM, Intel, Canaan Partners, Redpoint Ventures and Pinnacle Ventures.
AirTight Networks said Monday that it has secured $10 million in Series D financing. Existing investors Trident Capital and CMEA Capital led the round. With its U.S. office based in Mountain View, Calif., AirTight Networks is a global provider of cloud Wi-Fi solutions.
Cartiva said Monday that it has raised $4.3 million in financing. The lead investor was New Enterprise Associates. Also, Justin Klein, M.D., J.D., a partner at NEA, has joined Cartiva's board. Based in Alpharetta, Georgia, Cartiva is a provider of solutions for patients with osteoarthritis or cartilage damage.
Taxibeat said Monday that it has raised $2 million in new funding. Private individual investors participated in the round. Headquartered in Athens, Greece, Taxibeat, which was seeded by Greek VC OpenFund, is a taxi-hailing startup.
TrustRadius said Monday that it has received $5 million in Series A financing from Mayfield Fund. Also, Rajeev Batra, a partner at Mayfield Fund, will join TrustRadius' board of directors. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, TrustRadius is a website for professionals to share opinions on business technology products and help each other make informed decisions on usage and implementation.
Mark43, formerly known as Nucleik, said Monday that it has closed $1.95 million in seed funding. Investors include Spark Capital, General Catalyst, Lowercase Capital, SV Angel, Launchpad LA and Rough Draft Ventures. According to the company, the funds will be used for product expansion. Founded by three Harvard graduates, Mark43 is a law enforcement platform.
Breakthrough said Thursday that it has received $5 million in Series A financing. Social+Capital Partnership was the lead investor. First Round Capital and Great Oaks Venture Capital also participated in the round. Headquartered in Redwood City, Calif., Breakthrough is a provider of online counseling and psychiatry services.
Deliv said Thursday that it has named Micki Seibel vice president of product. In her new position, Seibel will direct Deliv's customer experience initiatives. Prior to joining Deliv, Seibel was vice president of product at Linqia, Plum District and SmartyCard. Headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif. and backed by General Catalyst Partners, Redpoint, PivotNorth Capital, Trinity Ventures and Operators Fund, Deliv is a provider of same-day delivery.
GreenLancer.com said Thursday that it has raised $500,000 in Series A funding. The investors include Bizdom, Start Garden, Blue Water Angels, Northern Michigan Angels and a private investor. Based in Detroit, GreenLancer.com is a web-based solar energy engineering company.
Silvercar, which is backed by Austin Ventures, has raised $5 million in funding, according to a filing with the SEC and as reported by several news sources. Although no further information is available, Luke Schneider, CEO of Silvercar did issue the following statement about the funding: "The equity capital will be used to commence operations in additional markets and develop our offering for rapid expansion. In just six months since launching at DFW, Silvercar has grown to serve four locations, and we plan to add a new location each quarter." Based in Texas, Silvercar is a provider of airport car rentals.
