Cantargia, a Stockholm, Sweden-based biopharmaceutical company focused on treating leukemia, has raised 7 MSEK. Investors were Sunstone Capital and LUBio. As a result of the investment, Sunstone Capital now owns 8% stake in Cantargia while LUBio owns 57%. According to Cantargia, the funding will be used for pre-clinical safety studies.
Kaleo said on Wednesday that it has raised $1.5 million in funding. Greycroft Partners was the lead investor. Double M Partners and TenOneTen Ventures also participated in the round. And, William J. O’Brien has been hired as the company's chief revenue officer while Mark Mullen joins the board of directors. Kaleo is a software application provider based in El Segundo, Calif.
Milaap Social Ventures, a South Asia-based impact fundraising platform, said on Wednesday that it has closed $1.1 million in funding. The lead investor was Jungle Ventures. Toivo Annus, co-founder of Skype; Lionrock Capital; Jayesh Parekh, co-Founder of Sony Entertainment Television; and existing investor Unitus Seed Fund also participated in the round.
Quartzy said on Tuesday that it has closed $4 million in Series A financing. The lead investor was Khosla Ventures. Also participating in the round were Lerer Ventures, David Sacks, Jeremy Stoppelman, Sam Altman and Sreeram Veeragandham. Quartzy is a lab management platform.
Sequenta said on Tuesday that it has raised $20 million in Series C financing. The lead investor was Foresite Capital Management. MDV and Index Ventures also participated in the round. Further, Jim Tananbaum, managing director of Foresite Capital, has joined Sequenta's board of directors. Based in South San Francisco, Calif., Sequenta is a biotechnology company dedicated to the discovery and development of clinical diagnostics.
Pixate said on Tuesday that it has raised $3.8 million in Series A funding. The lead investor was Accel Partners. Based in Palo Alto, Calif., Pixate is a provider of user interfaces for mobile applications.
Ranker said on Monday that it has raised $2 million in funding. New investors Lower Capital, BullPen Capital and Data Collective joined existing investors Draper Associates, Rincon Venture Partners, Siemer Ventures, TenOneTen, Tech Coast Angels and Pasadena Angels in the round. Based in Los Angeles, Calif., Ranker is a platform that polls consumer opinions on a wide variety of topics.
Altair Semiconductor said on Monday that it has closed $25 million in funding. Existing investors Bessemer, BRM, Giza, JVP and Pacific Technology participated in the round. Based in Israel, Altair Semiconductor is a provider of LTE chipsets.
Delivery Hero said on Monday that it has raised $30 million in Series D financing. Phenomen Ventures led the round, with participation from existing investors that include Team Europe, Kite Ventures, ru-Net, Tengelmann Ventures, Holtzbrinck Ventures, Point Nine Capital and Kreos Capital. Based in Berlin, Germany, Delivery Hero is an online food ordering platform.
Insightera said on Friday that it has closed $6.5 million in funding. Investors were Lightspeed Venture Partners and Opus Capital. Existing seed investor Glilot Capital also participated in the round. Headquartered in San Mateo, Calif., Insightera is a B2B platform.
