Artisan Mobile said on Tuesday that it has secured $5.5 million in Series A financing. FirstMark Capital led the round. According to Artisan Mobile, the funding will be used to broaden its sales and marketing efforts as well as facilitate product development. Based in Philadelphia, Artisan Mobile is a business mobile platform provider.
Biba Systems said on Tuesday that it has raised $15 million in Series B funding. The lead investor was InterWest Partners. Previous investors Benchmark Capital and Trinity Ventures also participated in the round. Other investors include Enrique Salem, former CEO of Symantec and Gary Griffiths, CEO of Trapit. Headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., Biba is a maker of a business communications app.
TopLine Game Labs said on Tuesday that it has launched as a company and received a $25 million investment from Cantor Ventures, the venture capital division of Cantor Fitzgerald. David Geller, former head of fantasy sports at Yahoo!, is leading the new company. Based in Los Angeles, TopLine Game Labs is a provider of fantasy sports and social gaming technology.
PeakColo said on Tuesday that it has closed a $3 million loan from Square 1 Bank, a banking partner to entrepreneurs and the venture capital community. The financing will be used for market expansion and growth. PeakColo is a provider of cloud solutions.
Artificial Solutions said on Tuesday that it has raised $9.4 million in its third round of funding. Growth equity investor Scope led the round. According to the company, the funding will be used to expand its presence in the U.S. market. Artificial Solutions is a provider of communication solutions and technology.
Cognitive Networks said on Tuesday that it has received $3.5 million in financing. The company received a $1.5 million investment from DCM Ventures; it has also secured up to $2 million in a structured venture debt loan from Silicon Valley Bank. Based in San Francisco, Calif., Cognitive Networks is a provider of real-time data services for Smart TVs.
Civitas Learning said on Tuesday it has raised $8.75 million in funding. Emergence Capital Partners was the lead investor. New investors Felicis Ventures and New Markets Venture Partners joined returning investors Austin Ventures, First Round Capital and Floodgate in the round. Based in Austin, Texas, Civitas Learning is a provider of tools that helps students, teachers and education administrators.
U.S. Agency for International Development said on Monday that it will team up with Northern Lights Capital Group to invest $100 million in India’s clean energy sector. USAID will provide a 40% credit guarantee for a $100 million limited partner commitment to Nereus Capital‘s India Alternative Energy Fund managed by Northern Lights Capital Group.
Sonendo said on Monday that it has raised $18 million in VC funding. OrbiMed Advisors, LLC was the lead investor. Fjord Ventures, NeoMed Management and new investor Themes Investment Partners also participated in the round. Also, Frank Yu, Co-founder and CEO of Themes Investment Partners has joined the Sonendo board. Based in Laguna Hills, Calif., Sonendo is a provider of technologies for endodontic therapy.
Wego.com, a travel search engine in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East, has received $17 million in Series C funding. Crescent Point was the lead investor with Victoria Capital and existing shareholder Tiger Global participating in the round. Also, Paul Bassat from Victoria Capital has joined Wego's board of directors.
