TerViva said March 26 that it raised another $20 million in its first close of its Series D round led by a diversified agricultural family office, Evans Properties, The Jeremy and Hannelore Grantham Environmental Trust, and a group of Florida agricultural family offices. Existing investors Elemental Excelerator, the Yield Lab, Astia Angels, Allotrope Ventures and Howard Fischer of Gratitude Railroad participated in the round. TerViva is an agriculture technology firm that is seeking to commercialize resilient pongamia trees.
Las Olas Venture Capital said March 26 that it invested in Preteckt. Financial terms weren’t announced. Preteckt provides vehicle prognostics as a service to connected and autonomous vehicle manufacturers and service providers.
Airwallex said March 25 that it raised $100 million in Series C finding led by DST Global. Existing investors Sequoia Capital China, Tencent, Hillhouse Capital, Gobi Partners, Horizons Ventures and Square Peg Capital participated in the round. Airwallex provides cross border payments.
District Ventures Capital said March 26 that it invested in OHi Food Co. Financial terms weren’t announced. OHi Food produces the refrigerated OHi Superfood Bar.
Lola.com said March 26 that it raised $37 million in Series C funding led by led by existing investors General Catalyst and Accel. Also participating were previous investors CRV, Tenaya Capital and GV. Lola.com, of Boston, provides travel management software.
Cybex said March 25 that it raised $18 million in funding led by Qualcomm Ventures LLC and Inven Capital. Existing investors Norwest Venture Partners, Glilot Capital Partners, Flint Capital, and OurCrowd also participated in the round. Cybex, of Boston, is an industrial cybersecurity company.
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc said March 24 that it is buying Brammer Bio for approximately $1.7 billion in cash. Ampersand Capital Partners is the seller. Brammer Bio is a viral vector contract development and manufacturing organization.
Skymind said March 22 that it raised $11.5 million in Series A finding led by TransLink Capital. Participating in the round were ServiceNow, Sumitomo’s Presidio Ventures, UpHonest Capital, and DCode with GovTech Fund. Early investors Y Combinator, Tencent, Mandra Capital, Hemi Ventures, and GMO Ventures, also joined the round. Skymind is an open-core data science company.
Evox Therapeutics Ltd said March 22 that it secured 1.5 million pounds ($1.98 million) in funding from Innovate UK through the Biomedical Catalyst Early Stage Award. Evox, of the U.K., is an exosome therapeutics company.
Kaarta said May 21 that it raised $6.5 million led by GreenSoil Building Innovation Fund. Riverfront Ventures, Zamagias Properties, Quaker Capital Investments, and Startbot participated in the round. Kaarta, of Pittsburgh, provides 3D reality capture for robotics professionals to map and model indoor and outdoor spaces.
