The Foundry Group has led a $7 million Series B funding round for Rover.com. Existing investor Madrona Venture Group also participated. Brad Feld, a Foundry MD, is joining Rover.com's' board. Seattle-based Rover.com connects dog owners with approved, reviewed and insured sitters.
DB Networks said Wednesday that it has raised $4.5 million in Series B fund led by Khosla Ventures. Shirish Sathaye, a Khosla general partner, has joined DB Networks board. San Diego-based DB Networks provides database security equipment.
Linkwell Health said Wednesday it raised $11 million in Series C funding led by WellPoint. Existing investors Spark Capital and HLM Venture Partners also participated in the round. New York-based Linkwell develops health and wellness consumer engagement platforms.
Israel Cleantech Ventures said Wednesday it has closed its second fund with just above $74 million in commitments. Investors include institutional investors, multi-national corporations and family offices. The fund will invest in Israeli based or Israel related high growth, clean technology, early and growth stage companies.
Radius said Wednesday it completed a $12.4 million Series B funding round with participation from American Express. Certain existing investors, including Blue Run Ventures, also took part. San Francisco-based Radius provides sales and marketing data.
Proterro said Monday it completed a $3.5 million financing round led by current investor Braemar Energy Ventures. Cultivian Ventures and Middleland Capital joined as new investors, with other existing investors, Battelle Ventures and its affiliate, Innovation Valley Partners, also participating in the round. Proterro, of Ewing, N.J., makes sucrose instead of extracting it from crops.
Rochelle Behrens founded The Shirt in 2010 to fix a gaping fashion issue for women. The company, which is cash flow positive, is looking for $1 million in angel funding.
Lattice Engines said Monday it has raised $20 million in Series C funding led by New Enterprise Associates. Sequoia Capital, an existing investor, also participated. San Mateo, Calif.-based Lattice Engines provides cloud-based Big Data applications for sales and marketing.
Facebook Inc board member Marc Andreessen sold roughly $54 million worth of shares in the social networking company on Monday to cover taxes he owes on his holdings, Reuters reported. Andreessen's sales are among the latest transactions by Facebook insiders as trading restrictions have expired following the company's May initial public offering.
Qualcomm Technologies said Friday it has acquired certain assets of EPOS Development. Financial terms were not announced. EPOS, of Hod Hasharon, Israel, develops ultrasound technologies for input solutions. EPOS is backed by Jerusalem Venture Partners, Walden Israel Venture Capital and Tel-Ad.
