Ruckus Wireless, which is backed by Sequoia Capital, went pubic Friday on the NYSE. A WiFi products maker, Ruckus priced 8.4 million shares at $15 each, Reuters has reported.
LiveU said Monday it raised $27 million in funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Existing investors such as Canaan Partners, Carmel Ventures and Pitango Venture Capital also participated. LiveU, which provides portable video-over-cellular services, has raised around $50 million.
Beringea said Monday it has invested $3.2 million in InSkin Media. London-based InSkin Media is an advertising technology and digital media specialist.
HemoShear said Wednesday that it fourth round of financing closed at over $4 million. Charlottesville, Va.-based HemoShear, a biotech research company, has raised over $13 million from private investors since 2008.
Spinal Restoration said Monday it closed a $5 million financing round, which includes $3 million equity from current investors Austin Ventures, Sante’ Ventures, and MB Venture Partners. Comerica Bank is also providing a $2 million debt facility. Austin-based Spinal Restoration is trying to gain regulatory approval of its Biostat System, a drug used to treat chronic disc pain.

Braintree said Wednesday that it raised a $35 million Series B round of funding led by New Enterprise Associates . Existing investors, including Accel Partners, RRE Ventures and Greycroft, also participated. Chicago-based Braintree, a payments platform for online and mobile commerce, has raised a total of $70 million in funding.
RightCare Solutions has secured $1.75 million in Series A funding led by Compass Partners and Domain Associates. RightCare, of Ft. Washington, Pa., specializes in hospital discharge planning and readmission management.
Scott Murphy has rejoined Advantage Capital Partners as chief investment officer. Murphy recently served as a U.S. Congressman where he represented New York’s 20th Congressional District from 2009-2011. Before that, Murphy worked at Advantage, a VC and small business finance form, from 2001 to 2009.
Square 1 Financial, the holding company for Square 1 Bank, said Monday it raised $20.6 million through a private placement. The bank said it sold the shares to existing institutional shareholders. Square 1, of Durham, N.C., provides financial services to entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.
