Cold Gensys Inc said March 18 that it raised $22 million in a Series C round led by ORI Healthcare Fund LP. Perseverance Capital Management participated in the round. Cold Genesys is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of immunotherapies.
LeanData said March 18 that it secured $27.5 million in financing led by Tenaya Capital. Industry Ventures participated in the round along with existing investors Shasta Ventures, Sapphire Ventures and Correlation Ventures. LeanData provides lead-to-account matching, routing and marketing attribution solutions.
Jeff Schumacher, founder and ex-head of BCG Digital Ventures, has launched 55 Catalyst Capital. Therapixel said March 13 that it raised a 5 million euros ($5.6 million) Series A round co led by Omnes and M Capital Partners. The pool of investors include Région Sud Investissement (managed by Turenne Capital), IT-Translation and Credit Agricole (Creazur). Therapixel is developing AI-based algorithms for breast cancer screening.
137 Ventures said March 12 that its fourth fund closed on $210 million. Ching Wu joined 137 as an operating partner and head of investor relations, while the firm promoted Andrew Hansen to operating partner, COO and CFO. 137 ventures, of San Francisco, provides liquidity solutions to founders, investors, and early employees of high-growth companies.
Beam Therapeutics said March 6 that it raised $135 million in a Series B financing round. Investors include investors Redmile Group LLC, Cormorant Asset Management, GV, Altitude Life Science Ventures, and additional undisclosed investors. Also participating were existing investors F-Prime Capital, ARCH Venture Partners, Eight Roads Ventures, and Omega Funds. Beam Therapeutics, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a biotech developing genetic medicines through base editing.
Pie Insurance said March 5 that it raised $45 million in a series B funding round. Investors included SVB Capital, Sirius Group, Greycroft, Moxley Holdings, Aspect Ventures, and Elefund. Pie, of Washington D.C., provides workers’ compensation insurance directly to small businesses.
Mocana said March 4 that it raised $15 million in funding led by Sway Ventures. Existing investors Shasta Ventures and ForgePoint Capital (formerly Trident Cyber) also participated. Mocana, of Sunnyvale, California, provides device security solutions for IoT and industrial control systems.
