Coople said Oct. 25 that it raised $21 million in funding from from One Peak Partners, Goldman Sachs Private Capital and Harbert European Growth Capital. Coople, with offices in Zurich and London, operates an on-demand staffing platform in Europe.
Tado said Oct. 25 that it raised $50 million in funding from investors including Amazon, E.ON, Total Energy Ventures, Energy Innovation Capital, Inven Capital and the European Investment Bank. Tado, of Munich, provides Smart Thermostats connect heating and air conditioning systems to the internet.
Plaid Technologies Inc is discussions to raise $200 million and is in talks with parties including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Bloomberg reported. Plaid makes developer tools that powers financial apps like Venmo and Coinbase, the story said. Business Insider said Plaid is raising funding that values the company at $2 billion.
Tiger Global’s latest venture capital fund has raised $3.75 billion, the Financial Times reported. The fund, Private Investment Partners XI, was initially seeking $3 billion, the story said. It will focus on consumer internet, cloud and industry-specific software, as well as direct-to-consumer companies in China, India and the US, the FT said.
Payments company Nvoicepay has hired Raymond James as it looks to raise another round of funding, three sources said. How much the Beaverton, Oregon, company is seeking is unclear. Capillary Technologies said Oct. 18 that it raised a round of funding led by Warburg Pincus. Financial terms weren’t announced. Capillary, of Shanghai, provides AI-based omnichannel consumer loyalty, engagement and analytics services.
Petr Šmída and Cezary Smorszczewski have launched Corviglia Capital Fund, a fintech growth pool that is seeking $500 million in capital commitments. The fund has secured $250 million in a first close. Šmída co-founded ENERN, an Eastern European/DACH venture capital firm which has invested in 20 tech companies. Smorszczewski co-founded and is the former deputy-CEO of Alior Bank. The fund will make minority investments in financial services and banking.
Hopper said Oct. 3 that it raised $100 million in a Series D round led by OMERS Ventures. Existing investors Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), Accomplice, Brightspark Ventures, Investissement Québec, BDC Capital IT Venture Fund, and new investor Citi Ventures participated in the round. Hopper is a travel booking app.
Goals101 said Sept. 27 that it raised $3.5 million in a pre-series A round from Nexus Venture Partners. Goals101 is a fin-tech and big data analytics company.
LightPoint Financial Technology said Sept. 26 that it completed a Series A round led by Citco Group of Cos and Ares Management LP. Financial terms weren't announced. LightPoint, of Tarrytown, New York, is a trading, risk and analytics technology provider. TAP Advisors LLC advised LightPoint.
