Chainvine said June 4 that it raised a 2.5 million pound funding ($3.34 million) round led by Deepbridge Capital. Chainvine, of Stockholm and London, creates databases and ledgers using blockchain technology.
OnTruck has raised 25 million euros ($28.8 million) in a Series B round led by Cathay Innovation. GP Bullhound invested in the round alongside existing investors Atomico, Idinvest Partners, Total Energy Ventures, Point 9 Capital and Samaipata Ventures. OnTruck, of Madrid, is a haulage tech platform.

Robert Mancini is retiring from Carlyle Group as of June 30. Mancini joined the firm in 2012 and is currently a managing director, partner and co-head of Carlyle Power Partners. He is staying on at the firm until the end of the year as a senior adviser. He was previously a managing director at Goldman Sachs. Mancini, 60, raised two funds to invest in the North American power generation sector at Carlyle. In 2013, Carlyle Power Partners I collected an aggregate $900 million in capital, which included co-investments, new products and an existing fund. Fund II closed on $1.5 billion in 2016. While he is retiring from Carlyle, Mancini said he’ll likely do something else. “I’d like to do something in the investment world that is different than investing in the U.S. power space," he said. Carlyle declined comment.
Buckingham Partners LLC, an affiliate of Buckingham Cos, has closed its first real estate fund on $175 million. Investors of Buckingham Multifamily Fund I include North American public and private institutions. Buckingham seeks to buy multifamily and mixed-use properties located in dynamic and fast growing secondary markets throughout the Midwest and Southeast U.S. Evercore served as placement agent for the fund. Goodwin Procter served as legal counsel to Buckingham.
Acousia Therapeutics said May 14 that it raised 10 million euros ($11.9 million) in a Series B round led by LBBW Venture Capital and joined by new investors Creathor Ventures and Bregua Corp. Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund (BIVF) and Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau also participated in the round. Acousia, of Tubingen, German, is developing therapies for inner ear-related diseases and pathologies.
A year after completing its last funding round, Blispay is out seeking more capital, three sources said. The Baltimore fintech company is targeting $30 million for a Series B round, two of the people said. CStone Pharmaceuticals said May 8 that it raised $260 million in financing led by GIC Private Ltd. Participating in the round were Sequoia China, Yunfeng Capital, 6 Dimensions Capital, CITIC PE, Taikang Insurance Group, ARCH Venture Partners, Hillhouse Capital, King Star Capital, 3W Partners, AVICT, and Terra Mafnum Capital Partners. Existing investors also taking part include Oriza Seed Venture Capital , Boyu Capital, and WuXi Healthcare Ventures. CStone, of Suzhou, China, is a biopharmaceutical company focused on drugs and combination therapies in immuno-oncology.
Rootility said May 9 that it raised $10 million in Series C financing led by ADM Capital’s Cibus fund. Also participating are existing investors GreenSoil Investments and Middleland Capital. Rootility, of Tel Aviv, Israel, develops root-focused plant breeding methods.
Rocketrip said April 25 that it raised $15 million in Series C funding led by GV. Also participating were existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners and Canaan Partners. Rocketrip, of New York, is an employee loyalty platform.
